So I have a 09 Jeep Liberty Limited on the way from the factory. It should be here in a matter of days. I don't want to get into terms of if this is a good deal but rather the MSRP price. As of November the MSRP for the base model of a 2009 Jeep Liberty Limited was $27430. When I placed the order in december it was $27430. In January when I picked up the Priced Order Confirmation (POC) it says the base MSRP is $27430. Now days away I am told that the MSRP of the base model of a 2009 Jeep Liberty is $27730. According to the jeep website it "built" a jeep today with my options it says base MSRP $27430. I was told that the figures on any paperwork are not valid as they are only valid the day a jeep is released from the factory. So what is the deal? Has the MSRP gone up this month? |

I would doubt that very highly. If they raised the price of a vehicle on me after I'd ordered I'd tell them what they could do with their new vehicle. I would imagine you signed something with the final price on it, like an offer sheet, did you not? |

NO, they are wrong. Once you have signed and or hatched out a deal by placing money in as a down payment. As long as you have a written agreement with a price you are good to go. Back when I ordered mine, the popular equipment group went up by 500 bucks, but because I had print out from the jeep web site, that honored the original price |

I have a long carbon copy sheet with all the numbers listed on it. When I signed it i was told that it was just a sheet that authorized them to order the vehicle. I knew however if i tried to back out this would be something they could use to say you signed for it. This is the third time the price changed - Dec 1st day I signed $26930 Jan 5th day i picked up the Priced Order Confirmation $27430 and February 4th $27730. |

When I ordered my KK in early January, I have a carbon copy of the "retail purchase agreement" from the dealer and Jeep's custom build "configuration preview" that document the MSRP pricing and the pricing of the deal I negotiated. Read the entire documentation from your order, including any back sides. Personally, I do not think it legitimate for the pricing to change after you have signed agreement papers. How does your dealer justify this? Maybe you should grab someone commercially savy and go talk with the dealer's management or call a local media station or your better business bureau -- anything it will take to hold them accountable for their end of the contract price. You could also go ask other dealers about how they handle this situation and what their order agreement means. Just my thoughts. |

if the paper from that first have the $26xxx price in it, that is the price they need to honor... if they will not, go higher up in the food chain |

Exactly. What I was told one time by a dealer that I didn't end up going with, was that if I ordered on one day, and by the time my vehicle arrived there was a better incentive package that they would use that package, otherwise the package that was in effect when I signed would apply. Again, not sure if they would have really honored that, but I throw it out for you anyway... |

I specifically asked my dealer what happens if the price or incentives goes up or down while I wait for my Jeep to come in. They said I'd get the better of the two deals. While the MSRP and options packages where the same price, there was an additional $500 rebate when I picked my Jeep up, on top of the $1,500 in rebates when I placed the order. So they just re-did the paper work the day I picked it up, and I got the $2,000 in total rebates. I knew about the additional $500 going to pick it up, but I didn't even have to bring it up... The dealer took care of it on their own, as promised. Now if their service dept could just be as good, and get my sky slider fixed... |

I hear you Paul young's sales dept is da bomb!! their service dept just plain sucks.... They have better service specialists down here in mexico than in Laredo TX.... sad but true The last time I had my car serviced in there they put a different oil grade on my hemi, thus dissabling the MDS system and having the car's computer all blinking like a christmas tree they also left my radiator cap off (by the engine bay) could you believe these guys??? |

I talked to some guy who had the tittle of Manager of New And Used Car Sales. He said that the MSRP increases by 300 - 500 every quarter. You would figure now would be a time when Chrysler would not have an increase in MSRP ... What do I know i don't a multimillion dollar company. |

Sounds like no sales contract was signed then so tell them to forget it and go some where else. If they can change the deal as time goes on, so can you. Or, since it only the MSRP, tell them you will give them 25,000 for it. No one really pays the MSRP, or at least I never have. |
