Can someone be kind enough to explain backspacing and spacers to me? I want to get these . . .

Will they work? What am I looking for in terms of the backspacing number? I am not 100% on these wheels, but it would help me figure out my options if I could figure out backspacing.

I assume you are looking at the 16x8s? Those are showing a BS of 4-1/2 inch. Unless you are planning to go with a 4 inch lift kit you can count on rubbing on the front. I have the 2in Revtek and have run factory with spacers and without. Without the larger tire is fine, with the spacers it throws the tire too far outside of the wheelwells and causes rubbing while turning. I would search around for no less than 5 inch backspacing. For info the factory 17s are roughly 5-3/4 BS.

Aren't the stock wheels 16x7? Why wouldn't I get these cragars in 16x7? Why assume I would get 16x8?

16x8 would make the tire a little wider (for appearance) plus more bs and 16x7s are even less backspacing causing even greater problems.

Check out this link for technical information on wheel rims, including back spacing.

Hope this helps.

I've been looking at the Cragar too but i also have some reservations about it. What I'm finding hard to find is something with the backspacing that would fill the wheel well and still not hamper the turning radius since I have to make tight turns often.<by tight i mean wheel fully locked> I'm wanting black steels since I don't care for the flashier wheels.

So what is everyone else running? Am I the only one having issues finding some thing with at least 5" back spacing and offset that i like. Best part i've found so far in my search are the sites that lack the BS and Offset info. Great looking wheels but after sitting on hold with the company, find they won't work.

So evidently, cragars may not be the best option. Now I am looking at these . . .

Would these fit on my unlifted KK? I can't seem to lock down the answer.

Also here . . .

Just to clarify, those KMC wheels will stick out just a bit further out than the Cragars and cause you just as many clearance problems.

Cragar's steel wheels in 16x8 with the 5x4.5 bolt pattern all have a 5" backspace. The KMCs have a 4.5" backspace, which means they'll stick out a half inch further.

a 16x7 Cragar steelie with 4" of backspacing will cause fewer rubbing issues, despite the fact that they will stick out from the fender exactly the same amount. The rub you'll get from the 16x8s later in life if you lift the Jeep is from the tire on the INSIDE, because it goes further inside.

Bottom line...yes those will FIT an unlifted KK...but you'd be best off going with a 225/75 rather than a 235/70 just because of the width

So can anyone point me in the direction of some nice black wheels? Just as a guide, I like the Pro Comp and KMC look in general, I am willing to spend in the neighborhood of $600. I just can't seem to find anything that will fit. Please help . . .
