Yeah, finallly. After ordering my custom KK 01/05/09 while DCX had all of their plants on extended Christmas shutdown with a lot of financial turmoil going on, my KK got built soon after the Toledo assembly plant started back into production in late January. It came from Toledo to Kansas City via rail and then due to the economy, the truck delivery contractor has only been working 1-2 days per week, so it was another week before the dealer actually received it. Then the dealer had some challenges with some of the parts for planned modifications I had negotiated with them to install. Finally had to defer a couple mods to later and went ahead and picked it up late Friday afternoon. I am so glad I've got it.

Here's a few photos:

Given the snow we got the night I got my KK, I decided to test out the slush mats:

And yes, I did have to take it out in the snow, even though I probably had 3-4 inches at my house, the park I went to had even less:

and it got dirty within its first 18 hours....

It it nice to finally have it. Now hopefully I can first-hand relate better to some of the topics that come up on this board and be of more assistance with some of them. I'm looking forward to implementing various mods over the next year....

That's a beauty! How did you get the Limited without having the chrome grill?????

I wanted the interior features of the Limited but decided the chrome on the outside didn't go well with the look and features I'll be wanting to achieve. I had the dealer replace the chrome grille with a factory painted grill -- I didn't want a dealer painted grill as they typically don't have as good of technologies available to them for paint finishes. I also had them swap out the chrome body side moldings and rear brow (over the license plate) with the black units from the Sport model. Once I get organized, I'm going to sell the chrome parts I had removed.

Nice to finally have your new ride. When I picked up mine in December it was in the middle of a snowstorm and it was covered in road salt for the first three weeks that I owned it.

16 inches forcasted for today so me and the kids should be able to have some fun later on.

By the statement "you got 2 Trail Rated badges"..... I am guessing you guys only got one? I don't get it. Mine came with one on each side, as did every other Liberty on the lot......

LOL - I think they do it to drive us nuts here on the forums, trying to figure out what it all means! ;)

Are you sure 2 came on your jeep from the factory? Every liberty I am seeing on the lot or on the road has one.

Does having 2 liberty badges mean something?

Thanks ya'll for the compliments. I'm quite pleased with my KK. I've always been an enthusiast into modifying and customizing my automobiles.

Yep, that is one of the mods I had the dealer do before I took possession. I like symmetry, so I had a "trail rated" badge installed on the passenger side too. Keen eye! My understanding is that Jeep only puts the "trail rated" badges on the driver's side. Looking around my dealer's lot, it appears true for Libertys, Wranglers and Grand Cherokees.

Unless there is some odd variation due to a certain worker(s) on the assembly line, I believe it Jeep's intent to only install the "trail rated" badge on the driver's side of vehicles. It may be that a certain dealer is installing them on the passenger side as well because of some personal preference or something. It only cost me $30 (for the part and free dealer labor) to install the passenger side one on my KK.

Does it count if I already had the dealer drill holes in it? Over the next couple weeks, I'll be looking into some modifications myself.

And for Jeep Green, I'm glad I got mine custom built before they quit building Jeep Green.

Personally, I didn't want the full Exterior Appearance Group-Black (pkg ALB), so I just had my dealer install the black Front Tubular Grill Guard. I guess I tend not to follow any prescribed limits and figure out how to make things happen the way I want.

I had my dealer quote me a large quantity of possible modifications and accessories -- something like 22 IIRC. Then I decided which ones I wanted and then negotiated a complete package deal for my KK and the lot of parts, accessories and dealer-installed mods I wanted. The dealer had quoted the black Front Tubular Grill Guard at $491 MSRP parts plus $150 Labor to install (based upon OEM hours recommended). That's $641 total. If you applied the discount I negotiated on the entire package, then you could say I wound up paying $484 for it installed. If you're referring to swapping out the Limited's chrome body side modings with black ones off the Sport, original quote was $366 total parts & labor MSRP, paid $277. For swapping out the rear brow, original MSRP was $152, I paid $115. I hope that answered your question.

All of us should not feel constrained to the few major option packages offered by Jeep off the assembly line. Any good dealer should be able to install any specific option or accessory in general. (of course, being the way I am, I talked with their parts department and toured their body shop before I felt comfortable enough to negotiate with them to do my OEM mods)

Here's to the JGB (Jeep Green Brotherhood). 8) We're a sub-cult. Some may call us "phased out", but I'd say we are at least classic, if not on the verge of legendary.

We aren't racist....we love silver, orange, both reds, black, blue, tan, and white too! We are just proud of our green heritage.

Digger, MtnLuvr, and I are in....anybody else? Strangely enough, I think we will all have JBA lifts by the end of April. That would make us JGB JBA....a sub-sub-cult.
