| Post subject: | Mounting Mag Lite in KK? |
Anybody have a suggestion on where to mount a 3-cell Mag Lite in the KK? I would like to have it in the front compartment somewhere, but the suggestions I've seen for the KJ are on the drivers seat frame. I like this idea, but it doesn't seem to fit very well on the KK. Paul |

Well, ever since I had to change a flat the other day in the dark I decided it's something that I should finally do. FYI. I found a 3-cell Mag Lite with mounting clips, mini Mag, and batteries for both at Sam's Club for about $20. Had them in 4 colors, but I just went with the black....it's traditional Paul |

you could always throw it in to the little tray in the rear on the right or put ti in with the jack. I keep a little bag of tool in there |

Yeah, right now it's just sitting in the tray back there....and that's not too bad. I just want to use the clips since they came with the kit There are a couple of decent spots in the back area that look strong enough to drill into and attach the clips. I may have to go that route after all. Paul |

where are you going to drill. If it's on the left, cool... but right side has a couple main wire arteries running along the panel |

Thanks for that important piece of info Digger I was looking at the right side right in front of the little pocket thingy. I have a small dustbuster vac in the pocket now....with the mag for the time being. Where exactly is the wiring? There is a pretty sturdy lip on the pocket, and I think it might do good there....no? I have a small fire extinguisher mounted on the left side, in the window area. It worked really well. I marked the holes, after I felt around in there on the under side. Drilled, and used small bolts with nuts, and washers. Really fit nicely in there. I would like to get those rear 4 windows blacked out eventually. I think it would be a little less tempting for passers by. Heck, I even want to break the window, and trigger the extinguisher, every now and then. |

I had a MagCharger installed on the side of the driver seat in my Rubicon, I am searching for a good spot in my KK. I need a little more space for the charger preferably with a power supply not to far away. If anybody has an idea, please let me know. My idea is under the rear seats/bench. Andree |

I was considering one of these two places for my Mag Lite.

I would go with next to the seat. why's mag light? it so big. did you get the led type? it's brighter and the batteries will last so much longer! the make conversion kit for about $20. make sure you get the max watts (I think 3watts for a e cell) |

Yeah, it is big, but it's sturdy. I've always like the Mags for durability. It can also be used as a weapon if needed The only problem I see with the front mount is the clearance with the door and the seat. It seems pretty tight. I'm also worried about accessibility with the door closed...although it's not likely to need it with the door closed. Meh...it's not that big a deal. I'll just get er done one way or another and that'll be that. I was just wondering what others might have done with theirs. Paul |

If I had a spare 140 laying around, I would mount a Streamlite Stinger DS LED next to it. It is just as sturdy as a mag and I love the one I have at work. 10x or even 100x brighter than a mag. Plus it has a strobe feature built in to it's programing |

I wouldn't mount it where it was visible from the outside. It doesn't take much to give some degenerates a reason to break a window. I would just toss it under the driverseat or put in where the spare is or see if it would fit in the glove box. I keep one of these and a small handheld 1 watt LED flash light in the middle console Hands free

In case anybody's interested, I ended up mounting the Mag Lite by the drivers seat and it works perfectly. Nice and handy and it isn't in the way of me getting my big size 13's in the Jeep Paul |
