I read about this when I owned a 07 Jeep Wrangler, but the past week or so I have been driving down the hwy listing to the "biggest stick in the state" our local AM station that is pretty powerful (wattage wise) but I keep hearing a lot of interference in the background. I did not have this with my REQ radio, but am having the problem with the MyGIG radio now. Anyone else have this issue?

what is the callsign of your local AM station? Also, what time of the day/night were you listening to it?

The reason I ask is, lots of AM stations change power levels at sunset. Some of them, like my local AM station changes from an omni directional antenna to a directional antenna array at night. We beam our power southwest. My local AM station has a pretty tight pattern at night. You can basically almost see the towers, but you can't hear the station in some areas.
