Been lurking for a while, thought I would share an adventure we had last month. Here's a picture story:
Yes that's me digging us out with an umbrella. It only took 2.5 hours; wife and 21 month old in the car with me. March 15th and we just got ANOTHER 5 inches of snow in Western Washington. I need new tires |

LOL. That looks too familiar! Did the same thing just before Christmas - the snow was just a bit deeper and we didn't even have an umbrella. Thankfully we weren't too far from civilization so we could walk to borrow from shovels. I haven't heard of using an umbrella to shovel, but whatever works. One afternoon I was tired of looking at this tree in our backyard so I "cut" it down using a hammer and a spade! The neighbours must have thought I was losing it! |

The neighbours must have thought I was losing it! Haha it was all I had and we were about 15 miles up a forest service road; it was also getting dark out. In the 2.5 hours I was digging not one person drove by. Lucky I had that thing or I would have been using my hands. Its hard to tell but in the first picture you can see we were actually in snow up to the fuel tank, basically high centered on snow that was packed to ice. |
