if the KK behaves like the KJ, then the torque limiting b.s. in our computers acomodate for anything and everything you do to it and limit your tq output to 215 or whatever you were supposed to have from the factory

spacers, cai, free flow exaust (getting rid of the gigantic gong muffler for a straight through) are all worthy upgrades to a vehicle

unfortunatley it seems to do jack for overall performance or efficiency in our jeeps due to the Tq limiting capibilities of our computers

to get the true effect from add-ons and upgrades you're probably going to want ot look at saving your green for a B&G flash upgrade

the Jet chips acording to those who have tried them actually caused performance downgrades and inefficiencies since they don't do anything in terms of the Tq limiter

http://www.bgperformancepcm.com/#jeep

i'm sure this isn't the feedback you were hoping to get but it's pretty much the end result of our attempts to build our jeeps muscle

Well I will have to disagree with you on this. I have a K&N intake and a custom Magnaflow exhaust and I definitely noticed an increase in performance. Also K&N has a dyno sheet on there website that shows a 11.25 increase in HP.

Stock the truck runs 0-60 in 10sec ... I did a few passes with a friend of mine holding a stop watch and with my Intake and Exhaust we had the 0-60 times consistently at about 8.8 sec. Which proves the increase in performance.

I know I won't break any land speed records anytime soon but you can get more performance and more power from these trucks with just a few bolt on parts.

Also on the older model Liberty's, Magnaflow has some very impressive number with just a bolt on exhaust system.

i won't argue that they give better butt-dyno performance, but i'm not convinced at all that (atleast with the KJ's) that they actually -increase- the hp/tq over stock levels due to the torque management on the KJ's

probably what people notice is that those stock levels of hp/tq and improved power curve is available "easier" which in itself is good, i guess i should have rephrased what I said

as far as those manu's claimed increases, i doubt they dyno'ed a KJ or KK, jet made claims and when confronted with actual dyno sheets showing decreases in performance due to the jet chip, admitted they didn't do any testing on that particular vehicle

to increase those numbers over a stock level i'd still have to stand by the b&g flash, of course fastman or whatever spacer, cai and free flowing exaust are still worthy upgrades to improve the curve but to get their full benefit you still may want to investigate the b&g

i appologize for not elaborating more, it was a bit late when I posted

i'm not tryin to sell you anything, there's about a 8 page thread around here somewhere in the 4x2 performance section i think, where one of the lost fellas which had access to a dyno went through the whole cai/spacer/jetchip experience with his KJ which may be decent reference material even for the KK but again, i'm not 100% sure of the behavior of the KK's tq management

well maybe there is a limit...
But the stock KK does not meet that limit.

So when you add in things like this it gets you to that limit..

This type of thinking prove both side correct.

Camp 1 say add in CIA and spacer to get more power.

Camp to says you will belimted to 215TQ

lets say the KK was shipped with 185TQ, so if you add in these cool thing you can reach the 215 limit..

This is a huge guess.

makes sense, actually thats in a way what i was trying to say

well that, and / or , allows the engine to produce the 215 or whatever earlier in the curve which equates to increase in butt-dyno

I think the throttle spacer is a waste of money I just wanted to see if anyone was going to prove me wrong.

I'm going to call that place about getting my ECU flashed.

I received one for my bday And I have noticed a fairly slight MPG increase from 17.5 to 18.2 mpg at an average highway speed between 80-90mph. Prolly not worth the $$$

i think it becomes more of a question over what it's worth to you, rather than to your jeep

I personally would do such things after getting hte upgraded flash, the actual aftermarket cai's i wouldn't do, the stock airbox on the KJ's anyway, seems to be highly regarded in stark comparason to the aftermarket cai's, i may end up going snorkel or homeaid cai with the dryer hose deals or something of that nature later on though

the flash is first on my list after i finish some fab work and get a lift and tires
