Post subject:  PERFORMANCE OFFROAD

Well I have done several runs with my stock kk. No lift & the stock "street" tires.

1. Went to Hungry Valley Practice Area in Gorman, CA. When up the face of the practice hill thinking I was in low4, but I was just in high4. Was happy that I could do that at least, did not seem to hard but have heard since then some older rigs need lockers to get up it??

2. Did a simple run on a dirt road nothing to brag about no even one thing.

3. When up to an area near Gorman, CA and nothing really great but got some great FLEX shots for stock.

4. When to Spangler Offroad Area this weekend. Had lots of fun. Took some great pics of both approach and decent pics, but the camera's settings were not right so got nothing! I was very impressed. The "bump" was say 10' feet high with a landing just enough for the truck to sit on top before it went back down. Both side of the "bump" were about a good at least 45 degrees and did not smooth out at the bottom. did not touch anywhere! impressed. Then when up a long steep hill with small ruts with varying 30-40 degree areas curving up a hard pack dirt hill, traction control came on a couple times. Now to the story reminding people always always go with a buddy. My wife and I went thru a dry stream bed and I decided to try a nice little hill to get to the top of the mountain. It looked like one hard spot that I did make it up but bottomed out a few times. After that the road underneath us gave away. My wife's side slid off the road and we were off camber about 45 degrees! My wife panic'd and opened her door to get out as it swag open full force with gravity and she stumbled out and ran saying I'm out of here. I got out my side being like 2-3 feet in the air. I tried going forward turning back on to the road that did not work I just slipped further down trying to reverse back up did not work I started to slide further down. Now down was about 3 feet more on a 45 degree and hit a big rock or roll. There was no cell service anywhere there or even in camp. My ham radio repeater that I was using earlier did not hit that repeater in that canyon, but I did have my handheld to hike to the top and use it. I was not thinking but there was the win-system that I think i might have been able to reach better? Well I turn my wheel down the hill and hit the gas with hopes turning into the possible roll would keep me going as there was not much room for error. It worked and with that momentum I used it bottomed out and kept going to make it back up the road a few feet further up where the same pebble rocks where and no other place to go. I made it!!!! I then turned down the hill and had three lines to pick. One that had I just slid on, or a higher one or a even high one off camber say 10 degrees with rocks. Well I picked the middle one and got to a point two rocks on either side where to too close to pass. I then backed up 100 feet and too the rocky side. I bottomed out on two rocks. One in the middle of the front axle and on under the driver control arm... I had to dig out the pregnant 9 month woman size rock in the middle of my axle and then prop up some rocks under my driver side wheel to get the clearance I need to make it over the rock the lower control arm was sitting on! Well it worked!

Overall for sure after this weekend I am impressed on what this jeep did this weekend! I have several scraps on the bottom of the skid plates. But just scraps no damage. The tires being street tires never really stopped me from trying some hard hills thou might have slipped more, but I made it up the ones I tried besides the road that disappeared on us. I would wonder after my lift and well AT tires where I would need anything else unless even more clearance for rock climbing which really not my style. Impressed and can't wait until I go again thou with a buddy. Sorry no pics to worried at the time of the liberty stuck or rolling. I do have a pic of the rock under my control arm I will post later!

Yeah I think I pushed the limits of the stock kk. I did so much more than when I was following a 1960 willy with a good lift and 31" tires. I am called crazy eddie for a reason!

The skids also do a good job of holding on to mud ... Here's what mine looked like after I went off-roading/mudding.

That's it, dude....you let the cat out of the bag. From now on, you are no longer E2....Nobody can go back to being called "E2" once they are coined "Crazy Eddie".

Great the secret is out! Yeah the kids in the back of my jeep thought so too. I was following a 1960 willy that had a nice lift and 31s and the rig looked cool, but I was hitting all the bumps and everything I could. At times I am sure the some of the tires were off the ground on some hard hits. We were in a area that dirt bikes road so it was very bouncy.
