I am right about to pull the trigger on a 08 Liberty with a skyslider. Would you buy another skyslider after owning one for a while? Or, if you dont have one now, do you wish you had one? I have seen posts each way saying that they love it with no problems and some that are in the shop all the time. During the test drive, I could handle the wind noise and after a good set of tires, I dont think the wind noise will be any louder then the tire noise. I'm really worried about leaking which is one problem that I have not heard from the skyslider yet. Thanks |

Thanks I often think it would be nice to have, but never nice enough to put up with the BS maintaining the thing over the life of the vehicle. |

I have had a few well documented noise issues with mine . . . but I would still buy it 100 times over. You won't ever see me driving without it open in the spring and summer. |

+1 Even in the fall - if my EVIC reads 10degrees celcius and there's sunshine..... it's open. That being said... I did just see a new wrangler roll by with the top and doors off..... Kinda made me drool a little bit... |

For peace of mind I get an extrended warranty. So I would be covered if something goes wrong down the road. For usit was this Jeep or a Ford Escape.. the Escape gets 32MPG the Jeep has a Skyliner. Well now i have a Jeep... We are very happy... |

I'm more then happy with my sunroof ... I don't think the skyslider is that big a deal. |

I feel the sunroof gives me the "open feeling" I need without the noise issues some have encountered. I also did not feel "secure" having the skyslider. Felt there would be issues with both water intrusion and theft (mostly water intrusion though).[/quote] |

For the luxuries that come with the kk, it is well worth it. Using navigation in the middle of the pine barrens while climbing a steep hill in 4 low with the heated seats on and rocking out to a 20 gig jukebox is awesome. However, getting back to pavement and being stomped at a red light drag race by pretty much any other car is kinda suck-ish. I know, I know. I didn't buy the jeep to be a racecar, but man is it slow. I mean turd slow. And I really didn't want a perfectly running jeep to have a tattered roof in ten years, so I opted against the sky slider. Just my two cents. |

I agree plus at least I can open the shade and have the open feeling anytime without worrying about the weather. I looked seriously at the Skyslider but with it closed it just didn't do it for me. I don't think you can go wrong either way. |

don't some of the KK's skysliders come with some sort of vehicle lifetime warranty for the skyslider? if i had a garage to store it in i'd rock it, but.. at the same time, if that was the case i'd probably get a wrangler or rubi in a soft top, i think they're really cool though |

I would do it again. Have had my KK for a year and have had not problems with the skyslider...unlike my EVIC..been replaced twiced. My skyslider has been in through a lot from 5 inches of snow piled on top of it from a trip to Littleton, CO to scorching hot sun in the Mojave desert. Not to mention my neighbor's cat clawing it. |

Owning a sky slider for about a month and a half now, I love it and would do it again. I want to always have it open and am really looking forward to my drive to NH in July with it open (hope the weather holds) I was really aprehensive about the sky slider but still glad I did it, no regrets |
