my transmission has been (and still is) out and i have been borrowing the ex's kk...
i like it right off the line a bit better than my CRD... the thing that gets me is the
highway passing... or lack there of..

it seems to take a while to get in a sutiable gear for passing... i know i know it
is cause the CRD is leaps and bounds for torque but one would think the kk
would kisck down to 2nd or 3rd (don't know which it goes into) rather than
going to 4th then to 3rd then to 2nd...

other than that i think it is an awesome truck...

I think i'll stick me Manual downshifting TJ haha. Even though i'll be the first to admit that, my girls crd has some grunt and can fly in the mountains. And off-road it does great.

All you need to do is ride with me  With the extras I have, passing isn't a problem any more...

does your intake do that much? or do you use the skids and just run em over

To add in a second question.
is the KK truley limted to 215 Foot pounds of Torque?
Also it is limted in Horse power as well?

manufacturers always limit torque and HP... i think on the VM motori website my 2.8L makes 320 ft/lbs and 190 hp... from the dealer stock... 160 hp and 290 ft/lbs... later to be f37 to 270ft/lbs no change in hp... they were destroying their cheesy TC's

so in answer to your question i wouldn't doubt it

This is the first I have heard of this. But I feel it is true...
It is funny how much can be controlled by computers these days...

I love it and hate it...

As I feel the KK needs a bit more power.
But I bought the jeep as it is...

FYI - KY Liberty - added NOS to his and it needed the computer tweak to allow it to make more horsepower

Intake and a Jet Chip isn't it Digger? Did you have to get your computer reprogramed to allow more HP/TQ, or is the HP/TQ the same, only in a better band/lower RPM now?

CAI, JET stage 2 and a Flowmaster super 44 muffler... I didn't reprogram my computer yet....One of these days I will get a second pcm and send it to B&G to have it flashed.... as far as I know the HP/TQ are the same, but a few things changed... Low end torque (off of the line) and throttle response improved dramatically, the power/torque bands changed from 3200~3500 to 2500~2700 and the upper end of the band is usable up to 5600~5700 instead of dieing at 5000~5100 RPM....

is the JET stage 2 a plug and play, or did you have to send in the PCM?

well, if you think the KK is bad, take a ride in a stock KJ. My KK is way better at highway passing than my KJ was.

It's like the KJ went to overdrive way too early, and you had to mash the accelerator all the way to the floor and wait for it to downlhift. My KK is a heck of a lot quicker.

i have driven the 4,6 and CRD don't remember much of the gassers...but i would imagine the 4 would be like the kk and the 6 would probably be a smidgen better
