Everything will be on the Chrysler computer. You could go to a dealer across the U.S.,and they will be able to get all your info.

That is what I thought. The Dodge dealer here in town sucks. So I changed to one in Vancouver, WA. Which is great. But they are getting the ax. I asked them to pull up all my records and they only found 2 from the one here in town. I had over 8 visits to the one here in town, they only put 2 in the national database. Lucky for me I have paper copies.

I do have to wonder what Chrysler's thinking is. They axed 3 local 5 star dealers in my area and only kept the one 3 star that sucks in town. Now I will have to drive 1.5 hrs each way to get to a decent dealer/service department. I'm pissed!

Well according to the news report I heard this morning....

Chrysler is closing 25% of it's dealerships.... however they don't think this action will hurt overall sales, as the 25% they chose, only made up 14% of national sales.

So they took the "weakest" dealers, and axed 'em.... no real consideration to the "happiest customer" dealers.

From a corporate objective standpoint... makes sense - you're making me the least amount of money - you're fired.

*shrug*

When I moved from NY to Arizona, they had both of my cars repairs in their computer. That whats suppose to happen. In your case ,they messed up.As long as you have your copy, you should be Ok.Sorry to hear your dealer closed, mine is staying.so I wont have any hassle.Good Luck

our local Jeep dealer is a Pontiac, GMC, Jeep dealer... yeah, that makes sense, huh?

They told me Thursday that they will no longer be carrying Jeep, but said that they could still do Jeep warranty service. I don't know how that works, but whatever.

It probably doesn't matter anyway, because there is another huge Dodge, Chrysler dealer here that I could go to for service, I suppose.

I'm assuming that you could take a Jeep to a Chrysler dealer for warranty work.

My second fav. is Poniac, GMC, and Buick...then on the other side is Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge. My main one is just Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge. Up till 2 years or so, it was just a huge Dodge dealer...

I can not confirm or deny this latest claim.

I was at my (good) dealer the other day. I was told that because of the bankruptcy filing, that Electronic parts are no longer available for dealers to purchase. In other words, if it is not in their stock or already at the warehouse, they are no longer available. At least until the bankruptcy is final.
The reason I was given for this latest situation is, that the Bankruptcy is stipulating a pay out of .26 on the $ to its vendor debts.
I can't blame the vendors for not wanting to sell more items to Chrysler and not get paid for them. However, if your ride needs a new PCM, or WCM for example, you are out of luck, and your ride will sit in the repair lot until this whole thing is settled.
The dealers will not trade with one another, because if they have a customer that needs one later, then their customer is out of luck.

Has anyone found this to be true yet?

On another note;
The dealers on the "Cut" list are stuck with all their inventory. Automobiles and repair parts. Chrysler will not buy them back.
I was told this by the local Jeep dealer that is on the list. They also told me that if they do in fact get "Cut", they can no longer do warranty service work.
Because of this, the Jeep owners here in town will have to go 1.5 hours south to have work done. After the cuts, there will only be a Dodge dealer left here in town (with a crappy service department) and they can not work on Chrysler or Jeep. Because they do not sell them.
Can this be confirmed?
