before anyone goes flaming i tried searching for a thread on this....

has anyone actually done this?... does it actually take off the torque limiter etc?

now how is it actually done... what do you get/have to send... and does it replace the jet chip?

since no one has it done yet, its best to call them and ask them all the questions

actually several of us have done it

I thought they were going to want a core but they didn't. Mine has been in for about 5000 miles

:)

I don't tell you guy's everything you know..

max speed on a GPS and doing it on a airport runway

I give you props for not trying it on the street someplace

i see your max speed... but with what modifications did you do that with, and what was the stock max speed?

that was with the b&g pcm and a fastman throttlebody

for some reason i didn't notice this was in the KK section

you'll need to talk to B&G about how the pcm upgrade operates with the KK's edition of torque management

i chose the b&g as a first mod prior to the jet2 so that when i did get a jet2 the torque management would allow the numbers actually go over stock levels rather than flattening out lower numbers in the ramp up to stock torque peak prior to the pcm choking the torque

the runway runs were fun, but i ended up picking up an aircraft rivet in one of my tires right after the second pass

but was a cheep price to pay ;)

i think the stock max speed was 105 before it hit the limiter, 128 wasn't the limiter it was the vehicle stability. Over 115 the combination of the tires and the jello suspension i had at the time with a ~5ish mph cross wind made it unsafe to push any farther

it does however make a very noticeable difference in the accelleration all the way through the torque curve which i think is still subpar over 4500 rpm but i can chirp both rear tires simply by patting the gas so the bottom end torque/throttle response is increased as well

as long as the pcm is valid to re-church the engine torque management on the KK's (not at wheel torque management with the fancy brake dealys) then it's a more than worthwhile investment

really no reason to wait, they work across 2 different modules

you'll just notice an additional jump with the B&G

I think the PCM and ECM on the KK are the same module. My manual KK only has 3 ports and the autos have 4.... Am I going crazy???????????

called them with current and future modification plans, gave them the fancy set of numbers for my plastic money and a shipping address

no core charge or anything, PCM's are cheep to begin with

at certain levels of tuning it becomes prudent to take it for them to do a running tune, but at stock bolt on level up to mild cams forged pistons ported heads, headers throttlebody etc it isn't necessary even though if you live close enough i'd do it anyway just for the slight extra tuning at very little cost

i'm not a Jet expert with our vehicles, i don't have one

but..

i've got that same assembly on my passenger fender that your jet is plugged into

but my PCM (JTEC) is on the drivers side behind the battery

historically JETS plug into the harness at certain points or even into the diagnostic port or at the ecm/bcm, i believe that behind the plug junctions is the TCM or transmission control module

Ok so that is one difference. The KK uses a NGC ecm

well b&g's module is listed as a jtec and ngc up to 2009, i'd call and ask, as straight foward as they were with what it does, how it works, when it won't work and why, what i'd need to get done if i did such and such, i'd imagine that they'ed outright tell you if running the jet on it piggyback would be a bad idea or not

i asked specifically about the jet 2 on the other fender for mine and they said it wouldn't be a problem

good to know... i guess i will be giving them a call but i would have other too cause i'm not the rocket scientist of cars maybe someone else would better understand... i really like the idea of taking off the torque regulator... wish there was an e-mail i could use to reach em!
