| Post subject: | Small Noise in Steering Wheel When You Turn |
After i put my lift on when i turn the wheel i get a small single click kinda feeling when the wheel is about a quarter of a turn to either the right or left. Could this be the upper ball joints? Any ideas? |

Maybe the driveshafts... The drive shaft can move a little bit out and in, try to move it by hand and listen if it is the same sound. Maybe a friend can move the shaft, while you are sitting in the jeep and listen. Why does the drive shaft make that sound? I think it is the inner spline locking ring that´s become worn out. It does not have anything whith the lift to doo. Atleast a hint where to search... |

I don't like the sound of that, sounds like an expensive fix if that's what it is and sounds like the dealer would probably blame the lift. |

I dont know if I understand your question correctly but be carefull with the tierods as there is an adjustment to them. dont turn the actual tie rod, just the nut on it or you will change the alignment. all the nuts should be tight. since your jeep handling is bad and you have some noises mabe you should take it to an independent garage and ask them to check this out |

That should be tight and so should the ball joint that goes into the knuckle correct? |

If the torque specs are the same as the Nitro they are in the Tech section in the JBA 2.5 lift thread. Might save some typing. |

So i checked all bolts and they were all still tight except for the rear lower shock abosorber bolts which was where i left them. I tightened those up to 80 ft/lbs. I had my father listen and look under the front while i turned the wheel to make the noise and he said it doesnt make the noise in the front. When he turned the wheel he said its more like a feeling in the wheel instead of a noise. I dont what it could be but i might see if theres a shop near my in MA or NH that can take a look |
