If you look closely it says LIBERTY:

Not easy to make it out because of the angle and reflections on the molding but if you squint yer eyes JUST right...

Just come to Toledo, don't have to go to FL, you can see all the good stuff sitting and waiting to be shipped out. Yes whole lots full. Also always see the newer models running around even before photos are leaked out to the general public.

ok, now I have more questions:
How did a Euro Cherokee got the liberty badge?
I know that the cherokee is made in the US, but how did this particular KK got out of the plant before being shipped to the other continent?
Will DCX finally consider selling a CRD version in the US?
When that day comes, I will def call my dealership and ask for one......

Pretty simple really, they make vehicles to sell, they ship all over the world, some countries due to whatever regulations must be shipped through different channels than others, some go straight to the boat from Toledo and to a dealer ship say in London. Others have to go through an exporter and then shipped to say for example South Africa maybe. Sometimes a order comes in for ten right hand drive diesel power 6 speeds something happens and onlt 5 are delivered so the exporter is stuck with 5 to sell on the overseas open market.
A month in Tanzania and I saw one Nitro, and two KKs one with badges
My wifes best friend back home in Tanzania owns her own auto importing business so got a lot of info when I get ready to ship a vehicle. The KJ will go but my main driver will be a Land Cruiser. Factory 6 speed, diesel, ARB bumper, snorkle, lockers, all the goodies installed ready to go!
Diesels here in the US in a KK,?????? I really doubt it, but I was wrong once before

Tom was 1000% on the money on his write up....

Sorry Digger, unless you want to loose a crap ton of cash I can only offer you $5k..... that is not even enough to cover the time you spend thinking of mods...

If this ever did work out, i would also want one..
But I would need to ask, is the motor used good enough to supprt more boost? if so how much more.?
but this like asking for $300 from my dead cat...

I came up with almost 8K in parts @ retail cost.... Now that doesn't include my labor...

Oh and I don't have any where near 8K out of pocket in to it

I love FREE and or Reduced :P

I can get you a complete pull-out from a wrecked KK CRD from overseas, but it's going to cost you. If you are serious someday, then let me know.

The bigger picture is to ask yourself:

Will FIAT be bringing a diesel engine to the new lineup? :?:

I think it will be quite a while before we see a diesel liberty sold in the U.S. again.
My understanding is the focus for the next few years will be to change the current gas engine in the Liberty to the new "Pentastar" engine which should be great in terms of horsepower for us.
And to change the diesels sold overseas to Fiat technology.

Because of U.S. emissions standards I doubt we'll see a diesel in a liberty here before model year 2014 when the platform changes completely.

I am excited to see the 70th anniversary editions (including a new wrangler interior) in a couple of years.

Sad thing is I think the euro standards are stricter than US standards :?

Both are strict in their own ways. The Euro is more worried about the C02 emissions whereas the USA is more worried about the particulate matter. I think with the current diesel technology, it's easier to meet the Euro requirements than the American EPA standard. Although, I think biodiesel is the answer to most of our problems.
