Post subject:  gascap
got a new problem this week. my odometer read gascap since a few days (the gascap is tight) and now I got the check engine too. anything to look for before I take it to the dealer? I think some KJ's had that problem too but I cant find anything with the useless search function

Well in the past on other makes and models this can happen for a few reason.

1. the O-ring got bent or twisted
2. the cap was not tighten 4 clicks
3. Charcol from the filter go loose and lodged them selves in vacum lines and other things.
4. Evap canister detroyed it self.
5 vacum lines broken
6 bad ECU
7 imporoper lift added
8 users messing with the fuel system
9 trying to make the vehical more than it should be.

great I will check all that when I get a chance. I guess its # 7 and 9 :lol:


i go to the dealer for all my oil changes so instead of a priceless face I got several not so priceless faces everytime I added something new and now they are used to it. funny thing is how diffrent people always like a particular thing more than everything else. Dealer mecanics like my ARB's, 4x4 shops and jeepers like my bumpers, mtn bike and mx riders like my fox shox and normal people like my 33's

Digger and Bob both need to go to a new dealer.
Tell them it was a special order.

Then come up with some wierd dealer code for it...

i parked mine at the dealer the other day to pick up tow hooks...parked it next to an 06 liberty same color ready to be sold to a 16 year old girl...she asked the sales person if mine was a employees, cause then the sales person called into parts to ask if it was one of their customers...

she then asked why mine was taller, so i just told her it has a lift kit, it was quite funny cause her father gave her a look like "no, your not getting this now"

You could say that it is the new WTF08 Model, with larger Fallopian Tubes in the undercarriage and it takes ID-10T Oil (Idiot) for the larger beefier auxilaries.
