I've been making car payments online via the internet for probably 12 years or more now. I've had two Jeeps, and have been paying Chrysler Financial for the past 6 years.

I read an article saying that they were still in financial troubles and that Chrysler Financial is going to lay off 26% of their work force.

So I go to make my October payment online at chryslerfinancial.com. Everytime I would try to log in, it kept saying "we are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later"

This has gone on for a couple of weeks now. Whenever I'd call their customer support, they would say that their web site was having problems and that I should try again later.

So by yesterday, I'm getting concerned. I call their customer service again and am told that they are having a problem with their web site. So I ask if I can make a payment via the telephone and they say yes, and that I owe a late payment fee of $15, plus a $12.95 processing fee for the phone payment.

I was like WTF? I asked the woman why I should pay a late fee, and a $12.95 fee for processing a phone payment. All she could say was that if I didn't make it soon, it would go past 30 days and that they would report it to the credit agencies and it would ruin my credit for 7 to 10 years. WTF?

Sooo.. I went back to the article that I read about them still having financial troubles. Ha haaaaaa, it had a name, email address and phone number of some big wheel at Chrysler Financial. So I called, left her a detailed voice mail message, followed up with an email and told them it's no wonder they are having so much financial problems, they can't even take my payment properly.

I didn't expect any reply, but the woman called me on the phone this morning, waived the late fee, and put me in touchh with their web people. They are having some problems, and I had to reset my account, but it's working again at least.

Sorry to hear that bro... at least that woman took care of you.
On a unrelated matter:my family always goes with Chrysler financial services... when I asked for financing options chrysler financial was crazy with the APR.... So I financed the KK through compass bank... This is the first time I deal with BBVA compass... they have been great!

I've had my run ins with CF. They still expect me to pay a late fee. Nothing was late, and they STILL (4th month in a row of requesting) will not send me the records they have that my payment was late.

Not gonna happen.

Don't feel bad. My first modem ran at 300 baud, and cost me $300. I would get on Compuserve with that thing when they charged you by the hour. Then I finally graduated to 1200, 2400, and 56K baud modems. Then in about 1994, I got wireless at 384 up and down. I ran that for several years, then I paid some more money and got 768k wireless. That worked for about 5 years or so. I just got the Comcast business class internet at my home in April. I'm loving it.. streaming HD movies via Netflix is cool.

Didn't need it. The courthouse burnt up the night before. They had to hold court in the local sherrifs office. I explained to the judge that I was somewhat boxed in by other cars, and the two lanes were coming to one in about half a mile. No one was moving over to merge, so I hit the gas, to get in front of everyone, so everyone could merge safely. When I hit the gas, a cop came around the curve coming the other way. All he saw was me pass by going a little fast... He wouldn't listen to me because he hated the Marines at the base. He had gotten in trouble with them before. So, he had it out for them (us)
