| Post subject: | $6000 KK Project |
So, my wife has communicated to me that she wants to put about 6 g's into the KK... Unfortunately, she communicated this to me by parking the jeep on a hill, out of gear, with the crappy ebrake set at about 50%. In case anyone was wondering, if you let your KK roll backwards down a hill and into some tree/bushes, denting the length of the passender side, tearing off the rear flare and side view mirror, and breaking the quater and rear passenger windows - getting that fixed runs about $6,000. Sorry but no pics... If I end up with some, I'll post 'em. |

Deductible is pretty cheap, and due to the nature of the accident, I don't think our premiums will go up much. Linex would have saved me a couple hundred bucks in paint costs, but other than that, it'd be the same deal. The only aspect of this that actually gets me a little wound up is replaying my wife saying "yeah, yeah, yeah.." the last couple of times I've told her to be sure to park on the flat spot on the top of the hill and to really set the ebrake. Yeah, yeah, yeah? Yeah. |

Is yours a manual? I'm guessing it is. So, why not put it in gear? I've done that for every car! Just a little more reassurance. And yea that might not hold it either. But hey, anything helps. BTW: Anyone else's parking brake not really do anything? Even after asking them to tighten it as much as they possibly can? |

Time to end the wife to driving school.. Parking 101.. Angle wheel so if the e-brake gives way the roll will not roll down hill... That bites.. |

Sorry - should have specified... It was -10 and she was warming it up - hence being out of gear. |

Have you had the H28 recall done? I had this done to my ride and the E-brake works great. |
