A few weeks ago I purchased a tow-hitch mounted cargo rack. I purchased the Tow-Ready #TR63152 that has a one-piece deck with side rails and is nominally 24" x 60". It fits the 2" Class III OEM tow hitch receiver on my KK and the cargo rack is rated for 500 lbs. ![]() Since I went with the 60" wide rack, which is basically as wide as the KK, I later decided that it would be prudent for me add some lights to the cargo rack since not only does it stick back further from the KK but if I had bulky items stacked on it, my tail-lights may be obscured. So I purchased a light kit for the Tow-Ready rack and installed it this weekend: ![]() ![]() Also put on some safety chains. ![]() The lights work out great. Had to use the 7 pin - 4 pin adapter that came with the OEM tow hitch. There's one more thing I can scratch off my "to-do" list before hauling 5 people and their stuff to Moab in April for LOST's GTG. If there are any other KK owners interested in wheelin' with some nice people and seeing a beautiful part of the country at a great time of year, then feel free to plan on joining LOST's Moab GTG this April. I was the only KK at LOST's 2009 Jeep Safari in Ouray, Colorado last July and both my father and I had a wonderful time. Sure would be great to see more KKs out there wheelin'.

Nice job MtnLuvr. That is the biggest hitch-mounted rack I have seen. The lights were a good idea.

Thanks. I don't plan to seriously off-road with this rear cargo rack but rather use it for hauling additional luggage, camping gear, coolers, whatever when necessary. Thus, I figured I'd rather go with the largest size and underuse it than not have enough. Needless to say, I was a little concerned about how much cargo capacity I'd need to haul 5 people and their stuff for more than a week, plus my usual wheelin' supplies, from Kansas City to Moab in April. |

A very good way to increase cargo space MtnLuvr. Nice job. |

Eventhough the carrier is attached via the hitch, I really like that you added the safety chains for that "just in case" moment. Nice job! |

Very nice looking. I am so jealous about the Moab trip. Really wish I could make it. I'll have to start planning for next year. |
