Every time I fill up at the pump, instead of shutting off when the tank is full, it'll over flow a little bit and then shut off.

We have the same problem in our 05. There was a big discussion on it last summer, seems to be an annoyance and issue with quite a few. Maybe try to use search button and see if you can find it. ours was any easy fix... we rarely ever fill it |

Lots of people have had this problem with multiple years, and it gets discussed about once or more a month. I've heard of people replacing the fill tube or something, but I don't know if that works. What I do is this: 1) Drive until I get the fuel warning light or down to about 1/16th of a tank. 2) I fill it up to about 16 gallons rapidly. 3) Then I set it on the lowest auto setting or hold it even slower by hand. Then when it clicks off the additional flow is small enough that it doesn't overflow. 4) Never top off 5) Clean up fuel with paper towel or wash the jeep every 8th time when it still overflows Also, mine seems to do it much more often from October to April, I'm not sure why. Maybe the vapors trigger the auto shut off earlier in warm weather. |

if your KK is still under warranty take it into the dealership. iirc there is a tsb or something and your gas tank will more then likely end up being replaced. |

There is a TSB for this. This is for 05-08 Liberty.Right now Im dealing with this problem on my 08 KK.There are test they have to do before they know what to replace. My test came out as a bad rollover valve on the fuel tank.Im getting my tank replaced next week. Here is the TSB: http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/LX/TSB/TSB_1400109a.pdf |

A bad rollover valve in the tank has been the most often found cause of this in the Nitro's. A new tank has solved 99% of the issues reported. |

Thats good to hear.Thats what they said mine was.I get my new tank wed,and was told there is a back order on the tanks, but my dealer had one,and I had them put a hold on the tank in my name. |

Good news richd. Just remember not to "top off" the tank and it should last. |

I happened to see that he was in Indiana, and I happened to also research the fact that Indiana uses Oxygenated gas. Not sure about Indiana, but they used to oxygenate gas here in CA only during those months. I'm not sure when they do it now, or when they do it in Indiana, but a different blend of gas could certainly explain why the original posters gas tank seems to overfill during those months. |

All I can say if anybody that is having Hard To Fill With Fuel Or Fuel Nozzle Shuts Off Repeatedly and your under warranty,I suggest you take your KJ/KK to your dealer with the TSB and get the repair done.I had no trouble for the first 2 years, and know I have a problem everytime, this problem doesnt go away, thats why the TSB.Once again this is for 05/09 Liberty as well as other Chrysler vehicles. |

if you read the original post, plus the other post that I replied to, those guys are complaining about their tank filling a little bit too full, in other words, it overflows a bit when the nozzle shuts off. One of the guys mentioned that his did that at times, but seemed to do it more during the fall/winter months, than the spring/summer months. The TSB that everyone is talking about here is for a tank that's hard to fill, or the nozzle shuts off repeatedly before it's full. are we talking about the same problem here? I'm confused |
