Hello,

At 5'5" tall, I'm finding my jeep just a little high for getting into. It's a real comedy act when I'm in a skirt (don't worry, I'm a girl). I was thinking of having the dealer install side steps. The mopar part number is 82211258. Does anyone have these steps? Do they actually help with vehicle entry? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I don't have them on my Liberty but I'm sure they would help. I have steps on my Wrangler and my wife really likes them and says it makes it much easier for her to get in (she probably wouldn't ride in my Wrangle without them). I haven't seen the ones for the Liberty so one thing you would want to check is that you think they would work with the shoes you would wear (I have to believe they would).

I have them, don't use them (6'3"), Jeep came with them. Before you order, ask to see a model with them on already, and test them out. Dealer is sure to have a Liberty there with that package already installed.

Glad to see you pop back in Lem :P

I don't know how mechanically inclined, but after looking at the install instructions, but it looks super simple!

Hey i have the side steps.. I'm 5'5"... here's my input... they do make it easier to get into but if you have EVIC ( and power seats) there is another feature which helps... the reason you may have toruble getting in is cause where you sit and where the steering wheel is... you have to get in a funny way... with EVIC you can have the seat be in its position when the ignition is turned to on and when you turn the key back it will move the seat back so its easier to get in when you get in the vehicle.... just my :2cents:

Good idea to test out one of the step altough I know your kk is lifted. A step bar will help also for entry into the rear. Not sure what these look like but if they are rock sliders with the tops flat for stepping that might work, but if they are too low they get in the way of offroading. My friend had a F150 that was raised 14" and large tires he got steps that would lower when you opened the door. My wife 5'1" loved them. I will be getting standard rock rails and put them as high as possible (even going to take off that plastic. Hope it may help my wife she can get in now and when I can I park on next to the curb or at the house on the planter wall. So for you check out the steps that lower down for an easy step or the step bar.

my gf is under 5'5" and uses the steps on my KJ, i think the KK model steps will be something you find comfortably used before and after a lift

my wife is 5'2" or something like that and my RL Super Skinks work just fine for this purpose, and doubles for off roading too, or is it the other way around
