as far as i know its done from the transmitter on your Key... have your tried having the key in the ignition and using another key?... I still don't think that will work but you can try.

May be a dumb question.... but why would you want it to open while you're moving? passengers going to water-baloon any tailgaters for you?

yeah - ok, but to do that, you'd have to open the window BEFORE the jeep was moving (unless you're pulling a "refueling the plane while in flight" type thing....)

Seriously though, yes, you CAN leave the glass open while driving (I'd tie it down though....).

:goink: yourself :-)r

Although, now that I think about it.... either scenario (water-bombing tailgaters OR loading while moving) would definitely be something I'd like to see sometime

I have tried to do it from the key while the car was running with no luck. Even while in park.

I like to use the rear window as a sunroof more or less. I drive with it open all the time, everywhere. The pup likes to stick her head out the back too. Most of the time i start up the jeep before I realize i didnt pop open the window. so I curse, then jump out and press the button by hand. Not a huge deal but a switch would be so much sweeter.

water balloons, lol. Drive by moonings.

I wouldn't want to drive around with my rear window just hanging open in fear of it slamming shut or something and shattering the glass.

Well, I have a 6spd, and if I wanted some extra air while driving, I just turned the engine off and pulled the key out, popped it open then restarted and kept on trucking. Doesn't work with an automatic. since the truck needs to be in park to pull the key out.

There's a small switch attached to the tailgate door handle with two wires going to a connector inside the tailgate. Splice into those two wires and run the new wires along the left side to the drivers' seat and hook them to a momentary switch somewhere handy. Then the window will open everytime you or your dog hits it.
