So I went to make a k turn to flip around and head to work this morning and my car let out a grinding chirp, After some experimenting I noticed the sound came from the vicinity of the front driver side tire. The noise only occurs when the steering wheel is locked as far as it can turn to one direction and it only happens from a full stop. Reverse or forward does not matter. Any idea what this could be? The car never did this before today. Also on a side note I have this god awful squeeking noise that sounds like rubber/plastic squeeking from inside the car, between the instrument panel and the windshield? |

Need to know more about your jeep. Is it lifted or stock, what size tires are you running? Any other mods? How old is it? |

Have a look inside your wheel well. Sounds like tire rub. You should see marks in there. |

Nope nothing... why would the tire start suddenly rubbing? |

Check to make sure that you haven't picked up a branch in the undercarriage that is sticking out towards the tire and only hits it when you are in the fully locked position. I would check behind both tires from underneath when the wheels are turned all the way to lock in both directions to see if a stick or something else is contacting your tire/wheel. You might have lost a plastic rivet or two from the plastic inner liner of the wheel well that is letting it sag enough to contact the tire. Get down on the ground, underneath the Jeep and look all around the back side and top of the tires/wheels for any contact. Use a flashlight to help pinpoint any contact. |
