I did some searching first and didn't see anything close to answering this so MODS, if this is a dupe post, please advise. Need to replace my 09 KK pass side mirror. It took on a 1ton ford dumptruck and lost. Wire intact. Only thing that broke was the base (mirror attaches to 3 screws holding it on to the base) and ofcourse the glass broke. Funny thing too, the glass? One side, everything looks up close. Other side, far away. Anyway, looking online, seen I can get 2 types of mirrors. One is heated, one is not. Ofcourse my mirrors were the remote controled type so it has a plug with a red, orange and white wire going to it. Does this support a HEATED mirror? And if so, do I need any type of module to make this function work when I turn on the rear defroster? As far as the mirror goes, it appears I have to buy the WHOLE mirror so that means taking the inside cover off the door to get to the 3 screws holding it on to the door. Oh, one more little gotcha.. Rear driver side door locking mech doesn't work anymore. Remote or autolock or inside switch. Doesn't lock or unlock. New unit is like 75 bucks at the dealer. Anyone ever had this problem yet. It's got 41000 miles on it and it's 15 months old. So, warranty is out. It's out of my pocket. They did however fix the rear hatch water leak (for the 2nd time at no cost). Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks |

I would assume if you dont have a button or something for the heated mirrors then you dont have them. You could always go or call the dealership and ask what part number you need. Same with the door lock mechanism. Usually if you get the part number and do some research you can find the parts then cheaper at the dealer. Ive ordered a few things from moparpartsamerica.com that were cheaper then i could get at the dealer, even after shipping cost. Digger is good at looking up part numbers if you need some help. |

you most likely have this mirror 57010076AB 57010076AB 1 J, T 74 With Sales Code [GT9], Right [GT9]= Power Mirrors Fold-Away If it is only 3 wire, I'm going to guess that it is not a heated mirror.... you are going to have a ground, a tilt up/down and a left/right tilt power wire... Door lock.... I think there was a TSB on that... I'll look in to that in a bit |

Thanks all. I ordered a mirror online for half of what local dealer was selling it for. Ones on ebay are same as the one that needed to be replaced. It was like 70.00 including shipping. I didn't go with the heated mirror. I did talk to the service manager, parts person and a tech. My vin does not support heated mirrors (wrong wiring harness). However, as far as the button for turning on heated mirrors. My LHS and town-country did not have a button for just operating the heated mirrors. When you turned on the rear defroster, the heated mirrors came on. Do the jeeps have a button dedicated to this? For the locking mech, I didn't get a part number but it's like 72.00 from the dealer. Guess I can call and see if they will give it to me (the part number that is). For TSB's. Not sure about that. I called Chrysler and complained about my rear seal on my back hatch glass. It was leaking again. It got repairred at 8k miles. Now, with 40k and 15months old, I explained the situation and was told there is a "new" mold used for a better seal and appoligized for my problem. They asked what I wanted them to do for me. I asked that it get repaired at no cost to me. They gave me a "case number". when to my dealer and got it fixed. Tech there said they have had many KK's in for seal replacement. There is a KNOWN problem with a large group of models but no TSB at this point. They replaced the gasket, sealed the hinges for the hatch and "readjusted" the hatch itself. Hope that fixed it. Thanks for the replies fellas. Appreciate it. Anyone got any good experiences with a specific spark plug for the KJ? Going to replace my girls 02 Limited's spark plugs and was thinking about bosch x2 platinum. I've had good luck with these in the past. |
