Alright I have an 08 coming my way and a list of mods I am doing to it. SO, after scanning the posts, I am curious, has ANYONE ever thought of trying to fabricate a quick release mechanism for their door hinges? This of course would "wranglerize" the Liberty and there some obvious obstacles to overcome. But I have some much smarter engineer friends I would like to throw this idea at. I was curious is anyone else had given it a go or tried something similar and had any results? |

it hasnt been done. other then a couple KJs here and there will remove them. if you figured the hinges out you would have to do electrical disconnects also. good luck with all that.

because the KK's are unibody - wouldn't taking off doors weaken structure? |

I would think that the body would flex so much that it would misaline every thing. I have seen it done with KJ's but they have cages built that would stop the problem |

interesting, good to know. If I did do it, I would only go for the front doors. I am curious if it would really harm the rigidity or not. Biggest challenge I think is fabricating a Wrangler like hinge that can handle the weight of the KK doors. |
