Alright I have an 08 coming my way and a list of mods I am doing to it.

SO, after scanning the posts, I am curious, has ANYONE ever thought of trying to fabricate a quick release mechanism for their door hinges?

This of course would "wranglerize" the Liberty and there some obvious obstacles to overcome. But I have some much smarter engineer friends I would like to throw this idea at.

I was curious is anyone else had given it a go or tried something similar and had any results?

it hasnt been done. other then a couple KJs here and there will remove them. if you figured the hinges out you would have to do electrical disconnects also. good luck with all that. :dizzy:

because the KK's are unibody - wouldn't taking off doors weaken structure?

I would think that the body would flex so much that it would misaline every thing. I have seen it done with KJ's but they have cages built that would stop the problem

interesting, good to know. If I did do it, I would only go for the front doors. I am curious if it would really harm the rigidity or not. Biggest challenge I think is fabricating a Wrangler like hinge that can handle the weight of the KK doors.
