Ok so what I'd like to do is lift my KK a bit to give it more clearance as well as put larger tires on it. Currently its got its kinda bouncy house stock suspension and the regular 16" wrangler tires. I stopped by a local tire shop to ask some questions about what I could fit without lifting it and the bottom line is not much. So I'd like to get a decent suspension lift that still rides nice without breaking the bank. Could anyone recommend a decent inexpensive suspension lift. Supposedly I'd need about 2.5". Or would it be better to put like 33" tires and a smaller suspension lift and a small body lift? I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to lifts and tires if you couldn't tell by this topic. Thanks :)

Can't do a body lift on a KK.Spend the $$$ and do it right the 1st time and you will be alot happier in the long run.If you want anything over a 31" tire your going to have to regear your diffs also and there goes your "cheap" lift build.

Ok so If I'm looking to do this for next summer what should I start looking at first? Re-gearing the difs? Or will I be ok by just sticking to 31"s?

Stick to 31s (245/75/16).

Ok so its been a little bit and Ive done a ton of investigating through stuff. I figured that Ill start at the tires that I want. So I found these BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 size 305/65R17 I'my pretty sure they fit the stock 17" oem rim I have. I have to make sure the width works. The delemma I ran into at this point is the 31X10.5R15's r only $178 a tire opposed to the 305/65R17's are a whopping $300 a whack. So....

I figured out that the breaks cant clear a 15" rim so those 15"ers arent an option. looks like its the pricy 17"s

3. Since I'm going to get either a 30" wheel or a 31" I'm going to need a 4" lift right?
So I did some digging and found these billstine shocks off JPA's site. (His lift is waaay to expensive for me to afford) I dont live in an area in which I'm going to need a 1200 lift. I just want to do some basic off roading.

4. Along with the rear shocks I pasted above, which front shocks would I need?
5. Would This level the front that way I dont have the KK sag in the front anymore.
6. Should I keep the OEM springs that I have now or get new beefier ones.
7. What am I missing here? IK im dumb when it comes to this lol :dizzy: :dizzy:

305/65/17 is waaay too big. They are like 12" wide and over 32.5" tall. IF i had 17's and needed tires with a lift i'd run 245/70/17s (9.65" x 31.5"). You dont need a 4" lift to comfortably clear that size tire.
My suggestion is to get ome 927 front springs with bilstein front shocks, 731 rears with rear bilstein shocks. That lift and the aforementioned size tire should get what you want.

Ok I think thats what I'm going to do but some questions first

Wouldnt the 4" lift give me much better clearance ? Is there a reason I should go with the 2" vs the 4"
Cause after reading through OME's springs, the 927 are made for heavy load suspensions with like a bull bar and winch, which I dont have lol. Although Id love them. And the springs say rated to 1.5" lift, which the shocks are either 2.5" or 4"
And will the shocks and new springs level my jeep?

also I cant find the OME 731's on his site. There r only 2 different kind of springs OME makes for KJ's and will the KJ springs fit a KK?

So it boils down to ...

Bilstein 2.5"s with front ome 927's and rear ome 731's (if i can find them) = approx $650 +shipping off JBA's site

or

OME puts out a full kit but its only a 1.5" lift. (Although I've heard that OME suspensions ride much nicer because Bilstein's are a bit more rough, or so I've heard) = $750 off JBA's site

Here are the 731s: http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-OME_Spring_for_Rear-764.aspx

The 927s supposedly will give you the best ride even though your not running a steel bumper or winch. They definitley give you more than 1.5" and you can add a 3/8" top plate (3/4" more lift) 3/8" clevis lift (1/2" more lift) and two extra spring isolators in the rear (~1/2"). If you run the clevis and top plate, you may need to get the jba a arms to keep the knuckle from knocking the springs.

so ill go with the 927's and the 731's. If I combine them with the 2.5" bilstein shocks would I give me a 2" increase? I'm just confused how I can combine a 2.5" shock with a 1.5" spring. Also where would I find a 3/4" top plate?

Also are the JBA a-arms completely necessary? they are like $400

Because the springs will give you more than 1.5" of lift. You actually use stock length front shocks, which still doesnt make sense to me either, but thats what the kj guys do and say it works fine. Also where would I find a 3/4" top plate? Its actually 3/8", jba also has them along with extra rear iso's

Here is jdizzles kk with ome lift. I dont believe he has a top plate or clevis or iso's
