I just saw that an econometer is available as accessory for 2010 to 2012 liberty, does anyone know if it fits for a 2008 and has anyone tried one ?

Are you talking about an accessory that physically adds on, like cruise control? There are aftermarket meters available like the Scangauge 2, which plug into the ODB2 port under the dash. http://www.scangauge.com/. These will give you real time feedback about gas mileage as well as a bunch of other things that you might want to monitor as you drive.

I think more likely you might be referring to the "ECO" light on the gauge cluster, which as far as I know, only lights up when you are driving in an efficient gear. I don't know how helpful that really is, because it's such a blunt measure of gas mileage. I can see that there is an ECO light on my 2008 gauge cluster, but it never lights up. I think it was enabled in 2010.

Almost the same thing sold by Mopar and plugs into OBD2 , Sold for 2010 to 2012 models. Big question, will it work on 2008 and is it worth it ???

I have seen a meter advertised as a mopar gauge but it is not a genuine mopar part. I think it was a acugauge 9100, but what reviews I have read it has some negative reviews. Scan Guage seems to have the best reviews but cost twice as much. If their is a MPG gauge that is a genuine mopar accessory I have not seen it. David

I went to the Mopar online store and saw their ecometer. I agree with the previous poster, this doesn't seem to be a genuine Mopar part. Although the ScanGauge costs more, it will monitor just about any sensor in your car, and can read trouble codes and clear the check engine light too. I would think that's a better deal. I don't have a Scangauge yet, but I am thinking of getting one. Scangauge's website says it works on any OBD2 vehicle made since 1996.

i do hate how my dash only tells me average MPGs and there is no way to just see current MPGs without resetting the average

am i missing something?
