Hoping I could get a lil input on this one... so my stock roof rails are totally weak and are bending under the weight of my tricked out roof basket. I fear that in the near future, they're more than likely gonig to break, so ive decided to order me a pair of the RRO roof rails. What im interested in is way that i can either A: attach my basket using my currrent cross rails w/ an implemented mounting solution, B: attach my basket using another set of crossrails w/ factoy mounts, C: mounting my basket by either not using crossrails. or D: a means to mount my basket onto said RRO rails that i did not mention. *The crossrails that were supplied with the basket are square* |

The more and more i think about it... i think im just going to get the RRO roof rails and just have 3 or 4 crossrails welded to them, then just u-bolt my basket to those crossbars. any takes/thoughts on weling onto powercoated steel? |

The powder coating on RRO's stuff (at least on mine) isn't very thick so you shouldn't have any troubles welding to it. If in doubt, or most welders would recommend, to grind off the finish at the planned weld points prior to welding. |
