Hey folks, quick question:

I'm looking at changing out wheels (for some winter wheel/tires), and my tire shop doesn't know where the speed sensor is on my Liberty.

Anybody have input? If I change the WHEEL size, but keep the same rolling diameter, will it effect speedo/odometer etc?

Hoping the speed sensor is somewhere else....

The wheel speed sensors are located on each front hub and on each axle flange on the rear axles. You have 4 wheel speed sensors, one on each corner.

Sssoooo... If I'm reading correctly: Same rolling diameter = no reprogramming required?

Stock is 29.1" As long as you are an 1"-2" + or - of that you really won't have much different in the speedo. Now if you jump up to 35's then you'll have a big difference in the speedo.

I had 30" tires on my KK and drive by one of those things that tell you have fast you are going and with my cruise control set at 70 the thing read 70 ... I'm sure those things are 100% on the dot accurate but it was accurate enough for me .

My speedo with 265/75 are only 3-4 mph off at 60. The speed sensors are in the hub and tire pressure monitor system sensors replace the valve stems on the rim. The hard tpms sensors can be swapped can be swapped into some rims and I think the soft stem sensors can mount in any rim. The tire shop would be able to swap those over.
