The KJ's didn't have the oil change alert feature. I read KK's do. On the KK's is this simply triggered after a set number of miles or is like the GM version that somehow analyzes the oil?

i do belive it is set to a spec but that is adjusted by how you drive

Yeah there is no sensor. It uses some sort of algorithm based on your driving habits.
