Found something interesting last night.. starting to get cold here in south dakota and went to hop into the jeep last night and for whatever reason i revved the engine and found that it only allowed me to rev it up to 2000rpm. I tried to put it in neutral and same thing. Drove it home and put it in park and it revved up normal. Anyone else recreate this? I think its normal, but just wanted to confirm.

Over reving a cold engine can cause a lot of damage. Need to allow some time for oil temp and oil pressure to come up.

As long as you have good oil pressure you can rev to redline without issues on a cold engine.
