So we just got a lot of snow here in tahoe and the temps have been very cold. The last couple of mornings when i back out of my carport something seems to be stuck and the wheels dont want to roll. I have to give'er a little more throttle and it breaks free. It only happens after sitting overnight. I'm thinking maybe ice is forming over my brakes and rotors from snow melt. I have never had this issue with any other vehicles up here. Anybody have any thoughts on this or experienced this themselves?

Do you usually pull the e-brake? I know that with several previous cars I've had, seeing as they've all been manual transmissions, I would leave the e-brake on, and if it was winter it'd usually freeze up, but it wasn't ever a serious issue.

Yes, i have had this happen before to me in South Dakota. Usually occurred when I was messing around in the snow or just driving a lot in deep snow and the wheels get VERY packed with snow. Drive around a bit so the wheels and brakes get nice and warm then let it sit for a few hours or overnight. Bingo, brakes get nice and frozen to the rotors. The snow/water drips down between them and then freezes.

In my opinion, if the brakes can handle stopping our big rigs they can handle breaking a bit of ice off the rotor and caliper. I've never had any problems whenever it did happen to me btw.

Thanks guys. Yeah it was after driving through really deep snow and it was packed in everywhere like you described SD-KJ.
