I have on order the 4inch JBA KK lift kit. I was thinking about throwing on some new tires to go with the lift bu am not sure how big I can go. I have the factory Sport rims. If I get anything, they will be Wrangler MT/R's w/ kevlar. What is the biggest sixe I can go with these bad boys and still have no rub? I want to get 33's if possible with no rub, but can settle with 31's if they will fit in the same manner
Thanks for all the help!

I believe it will partially depend upon your wheel backspacing / off-set.

You could do what I did and install your lift first then experiment with tire sizes. When I installed one of the early JBA 2" suspension lifts back in spring 2009, I worked with my local Goodyear shop and got them to bring in and mount three different sizes of MT/Rs (just one size mounted to one rim each) so I could try them out on the front wheel well at full turn lock. One of the sizes (that others reportedly had mounted) was too big and rubbed bad on the front side of the front wheel well liner so I chose the next smaller option. You may want to also check out the KK Wheel & Tire Survey thread for more info (although it hasn't been updated by anyone in awhile).

Hopefully some of the people with the JBA 4" lift installed already will chime in.

May also consider that if going bigger you'll need to regear
32s/33s and stock gearing would leave you with no power and poor mileage

When I went to purchase tires after my lift, I had the shop mount one of the proposed tires to the spare. I was then able to check for clearances and have everything trimmed before the rest were installed... I know... I know.... brilliant...

Any one else willing to chip in here? my 4" JBA lift has just been installed (jeep is still at the shop whilst I try research tyre/rim sizes).

I have a CRD LTD that came with 18" rims. Am I able to drop down to 16" rims - The shop that has the jeep didnt seem to think 16" rims would fit - but i've read on these forums heaps of people have 16" rims? Is there anything different from the KK's that came with 18" standard to the ones that came with 17" (is it the standard 17"er's that have dropped to 16"?).

So what do all the 4" guys have in terms of rim size/offset/back spacing and tyre size? - want to go as big as possible - doesnt everyone :)
