Personally, I'm not a fan of the X1. My friend has an X5 which is nice but IDK, the BMW "SUV" seems to be lacking the "Utility" part. The X5 is big enough that you can get some Utility out of the but the X3 and X1 seem useless for any Utility. I'd rather pick the EX35 over the X1 and I DEFINITELY pick the new GC over both of them. Especially with the HEMI!!!
That's why they're not sold as SUVs - they're SAVs (Sport ACTIVITY Vehicle)

... freakin' marketers eh? For all the utility I need.... they'd be fine... as long as I can put a ski box on top, and a couple boot bags in the back, that'll be all the utility required (and then the father-in-law has to stop asking me to move things with the jeep too

)
The buddies EX35 was slick. quite slick in fact - went like a rocket, and handled like it was on roller-coaster-rails... very fun indeed. We'll see.... I might go browsing this weekend, but.... I doubt it. it IS still alot of cash

Alright this reminds me of the argument that I was just in with my dad about.....I had an '07 modded out turbo MINI Cooper S before my new Renegade.....now MINI has the all time 4wd Turbo Countryman.....fun? darn straight...4wd? yah....but to REPLACE a Jeep? HELL NO......maybe replace a car with, but you cant replace a Jeep for a "big car" that is 4wd...just isn't the same...
I do also like the countryman.... haven't seen it in person, but... it is pretty cool. Something about a BIG Mini-cooper is.... odd to me though...
Not to mention:
Mini CountrymanS - 181hp - $32,650 base (canadian)
BMW X1 - 241 hp - $38,500 base (canadian)
$6,000 less for a downgraded X1 it seems... That was actually always my problem with Mini.... 80% of a Mini is BMW (Toyota/Lexus)... but Mini doesn't really wanna acknowledge the fact that it IS a cheap bmw (ala Toyota Vs. Lexus)
