| Post subject: | Jeep Liberty KK Lift installed - Questions & Ideas |
Hi Folks Completed my KK lift this week... Used a JBA lift with new "A-Arms" for a total lift of about 4 inches (with new tires and alignment)... The steering is actually better then before the lift (could be the new tires and alignment)... The ride is different, but it seems a little smoother then before... Did some mild off-road to shake things up and settle parts in... I am very happy with the results (looks great, rides great, seems to have good lateral stability) Questions: -- I get some front end noise when on pavement with minor bumps at slow speed... It sounds more like something loose, then interference impacts... -- Never hear the noise at higher speeds... -- I inspected the lift parts and see no evidence of rubbing or interference... -- I periodically hear the noise off-road... -- Got my radio equipment installed and operating... Any troubleshooting ideas? Thanks -- Also, it is a little more difficult climbing into the lifted Liberty, what side rails have people used that have a decent step on it??? ![]() ![]()

Start with checking torque on all bolts. |

Hi Atthehelm Thanks for your help... I will get it up on a garage lift and test bolts and make a better visual inspection... |

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! The passenger side lower sway bar link was loose. The bolt was tight to torque spec but it could be moved by hand. The loose link made noise. The mechanic could not get the bolt loose and was worried that the bolt may snap. He worked it with an impact wrench and the bolt eventually backed out. He then re-torqued the bolt, compressed washer into the bushing and eliminated the loose connection. I have been driving for several days now, no noise. The ride seems better then original and I really like my JBA 2.5 lift. Looks great and rides great!!! |

Hs10, Sorry to see you have a fever. Mod fever that is. Worse news for you...there's no cure The KK looks awesome. Love the contrasting look of the black basket over the white. As far as making entry easier, this may sound goofy but it was suggested to me to lead in with your head then swing the hips in rather than hips in first then ducking head in. Works for me. Happy
