I was in the process in re-installing my rear seat (don't ask all you need to know is if you lend your truck to your wife, make sure she gets all of the groceries out ESPECIALLY THE BUTTER) and I came across this device rigged up to the undercarriage of my Rear Passenger side seat. What is it? What does it do? I see it has electrical components. Please help I'm more curious than anything.

I know I have the "6 Speaker System" thats offered for the KK thats all I know. My build sheet did say "130 CD/MP3" thats what threw me off.

Hi,

I tried to send this as a PM so im not off your topic but couldnt see how. Anyway, very interesting question. Dont have an answer tho but I am sure one of the gurus will enlighten us.

Off topic: how on god's green earth did you remove the back seat? I can see it sits some sort of hinge/spring thing but for the life of me, cant figure out how to remove. Any help/pics would be greatly appreciated!

thanks
fellow KK driver from the land of Oz :-)

Man, by the time I thought of bringing out the camera to do a How-to it was almost 3/4th done and I also figured that there would already be one on here. I might do one soon.

I dont know if you have NAV but in a lot of cars thats where its located. In the acura we have thats where the DVD part (where the maps are stored) is located. In some, generally older NAVs, it is a separate component from the radio (besides the screen). Its just an idea.

It looks like an amp. I know back years ago when my mom had a 2003 GC it had a factory amp under the seat like your KK.

Exactly where is that? Do you need to remove the seat to access this module?

govt computers blocking the pics. :?

from what i remember its the DC to AC power inverter that goes to the backside of the center console. leave it disconnected and try to turn the power outlet on and i believe itll just blink a few times and shut off. plug it back in and turn on the power outlet and it should be operational.

No but it helps, just look under your rear passenger's side seat.

This would make sense since the 2009 KK I have doesn't have this and also does not offer the Plug in the back.
