Just wondering from the experience of other members what the largest tire size will fit underneath with the mopar tow hitch installed. I have just ordered a set of the bf goodrich km2's in 245 75 16's. Hoping the spare will still fit.

245/75/16 should be the biggest, and that will be a snug fit.

I have a 255/70/16 underneath with the mopar hitch. Fits just fine. The 245/75 isn't much taller and I'd suspect it will fit. Just a bit tighter. I plan to switch to a 245/75 series with the next set of tires.

Has anyone ever thought about taking a spare tire mount off of a KJ and putting it on the KK?

I was under the impression they were just studs coming out of the back hatch. Either way...The rear hatch on the KK has no swing out door and you would have to lift the weight of the tire UP. The tiny struts for the hatch would be no match for a heavy off-road tire. KK needs a swing out.

a 265/75/16 wont fit under there without hanging down and dragging on everything

Is this from experience? As mine fits, I go off roadimg and have had no issues. the width of the tires does not buldge out much further then the rim, especially with no weight on it.

A 265/75/16 on TJ Moabs will not fit in the spare tire hole very well. The tire wont go in the recess all the way so it makes it hang down. Maybe if you let the air out of the tire and really cranked on it to wedge it in there it would be fine.
