I am tryingto figure out the real difference between the blistein shocks and the sky jacker shocks for the kk. I have a 2in lift now and will be going up to 2.5 spring lift soon and need new shocks to go along. I've seen the parts numbers on the site before but i cant seem to find the right parts number now! :banghead: so if any one knows the parts numbers for both id REALLY appreciate it.

If it were you, would you get the bilsteins or the sky jackers?

I know most will say bilsteins, but what makes them that much better?

appreciate the thoughts.

From what I have read and heard from friends with lifts is that the bilstein are smoother whereas the skyjacker are a bit bouncy... thats about the only difference I have heard of

Back years ago Skyjacker had some good products, anymore not so much
So Bilsteins, the last 5 lifts I've done thats what was installed
On par with OME as far as I can tell with how they ride

Buy the cheaper ones. You'll never notice the difference. I have over $1000 in blistiens on my Cummins and I can't tell a difference from stock. Only barely with a heavy load.

I am sure you have read my post about my lift...I have the skyjackers on the rear and OME shocks on the front. The skyjackers seemed a little bit bouncy, but once I took them on the trail they have settled down a little bit. I love the ride now!

I found these on amazon, Yea i know..im that guy that shops for every thing there.., are they the correct model number?

I ended up puting the lift on hold for a bit because i am getting some new tires here soon. But i need to make sure i have all the correct parts for when I ready to do it.

Yes those will work. Make sure you get two, amazon's picture shows two of them, but you actually get one at that price.

what (if any) are the differences between the hydrolic and nitrogen shocks from sky jacker?

Post subject:  Re: bilstein v/s sky jacker

get the nitrogens
they'll ride better over the long run

I ended up getting the nitro's..i wanted bilsteins but my budget is getting stretched thin with the added cost of some install...ill have a new thread for the project explaining that. :pepper:

I know this forum is Bilstein vs SkyJacker, but what about OME? I've been looking to do a suspension lift for my truck and I got some prices on the full OME set up today. The guy at the shop seemed very to think that I should get Bilstein shocks instead of the OME's. What do you all think?

Which front shocks did you end up using?

I had a daystar lift on before so i kept the origonal front struts and left the top plate of the day star on so it gave them the extra length to work.

I know its not the BEST but its all i could afford for now. :SOMBRERO:

eventually better front struts and even some 1" spacers for a little extra lift to go with the springs.
