wouldnt allowing liquid into the engine compartment cause issues?

I just like the look. A little different than say having a hood blackout.

Performance wise, I dont see a need to have these, but i don't see a problem with it either considering Jeeps are meant to get wet

Cosmetically, they look cool.

they are cheaper and there are more styles here: http://www.hoodlouvers.com/productshood.html

It actually looks like Rocky Road just copied and pasted from the hood louvers website. I would imagine they're the same product. Might as well get the cheaper ones

Yeah but to support a lousy company is not worth the few $$$ saved.

How do know they don't just buy from or work with eachother in order to sell more? Plus rocky road has the roof rails I want lol

Because a respectable company that is a vendor for the other does not take credit for other peoples work, copy their website word for word, and even take the other companies logo and slightly modify it so it is similar, and then charge $6 a pair more. Those vents are RunCool Vents, which Troy runs on his SFA KJ, and I personally talked to the guys at RunCool and they generously donated a set of THEIR vents for the LOST jeep Safari in Ouray a few years back so the procedes could be donated to a good cause.

Here is RunCools Logo:

Then read RRO's site starting here: "Now, the world's first, universal-fit, pop-rivet-on, metal hood louvers-no need to remove, punch and repaint your hood..."

Then read the runcool site on the left column. And compare the Q&A section of the runcool to RRO.

Also take close note at the info posted underneath each of their louvers: "MADE IN THE U.S.A. - PATENTED"

One time a long time ago I made the mistake of marketing a product under my company name as I had a "business relationship" as you are mentioning, and it came back to bite me in the @$$, so I will never take credit for another companies work again.

Support a credible company that has actually donated to the LOST community and are good guys to deal with.

Just my $0.02.

Also make sure they are STILL a credible company. I've tried to buy a product from one of the 'old', use-to-be, credible companies off of LOST and it cost me $50 to get nothing but months of aggravation. Not a company I'd ever think of buying from again.

Fair enough. I was merely questioning what was purely suspicion at first.

I just stumbled onto this post. I recently ordered a lift from RRO, it's the one with the spacers, control arms and rear shocks. The control arms were out if stock and had to be made. Should I be concerned about the quality of these parts or the integrity of the company? It's not too late to cancell the order, it's been over two weeks and they still aren't done. That alone was raising questions in the back of my mind. They portray themselves being the best and some of their stuff looks pretty good.
Any thoughts on this? :?

I think you might be the first (KK) one on this board to actually order that lift kit. A lot of people have come here asking the same question you are now and get turned away by the responses. I personally have no experience with this company and a lot of what gets posted is something people have heard about an experience someone had through a friend of an uncle of a second cousin twice removed (or something like that, you get the picture).

I have actually e-mailed them before asking about this same lift and they were willing to swap out the rear springs for OME parts as well for a little bit more, so they seem like they're pretty flexible but again, I haven't ordered any of their product.

They got some more parts in and it should be here by Monday or Tuesday. I'm not sure about the upper control arms though. They have been selling alot of the kk kits according to who I think is the owner. Any thoughts on upper control arms? JBA also sells them and I really like that they use moog ball joints. The lift itself is mearley a set of spacers that go above the struts and rear springs. It shouldn't effect anything as far as premature wear at least as long as the upper control arm is replaced and longer shocks are used on the rear. I'll post the results after I install it.

One of the worst lifts you can get number one,
number two RRO will tell you anything to sell a product, sold a lot of kits, yes thats his story on everything
If you search you'll find where people had to send the arms back because they would not fit.

All I can say is Good Luck
at least get some teraflex bumpstops it will help for a while

buy a 25,000 dollar rig and go cheap on suspension
why?

Thats just special... good job RRO

I installed a set of the run cool louvers back in 2009 when I sprayed my KK. As of right now, no issues.
