I just got my 2011 KK Sport, but it did not come with actual rails, but rather black plastic strips where the rails should be. Does anyone have a link to a diagram or service manual that shows how these are connected and if there are mounting points for me to be able to pull these off and replace with real rails? Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched and went through about 20 pages of the 70 that came up for 'roof rails', but didn't see this. |

I've read somewhere that you can pull those off and expose bolts underneath that allow you to attach real rails. I don't remember if it was on this forum or the other one. |

I'm going through the same exact thing with my 08 KK. I have not decided on a set of rails YET but I have found out that you can use the Liberty sport rails in place of the factory sticky-tapped plastic pieces. http://jparts.com/product_info.php?cPat ... srei5to4t7 I have not purchase these yet or installed them but I have heard from numerous people that these will work. Just an FYI. |

Thanks guys, yeah I'm planning on getting the rocky-road roof rails. Just wanted to make sure before I went and pulled off the plastic strips that holes actually existed to let me mount them. Really not keen on having to drill my own holes. |

The parts manager at the Jeep dealership by me said that according to his book the 2010 liberty doesnt have any mounting points. Im wondering (if this is true) if it applies to '10 and up? Just a thought. |

huh, well that's interesting to know then. I'm working on getting my hands on a service manual. With luck I should know for sure before I go ordering rails that I can't just bolt on. |

I REALLY want the RR roof rails so I hope its not true. I also dont think the guy knew what he was talking about, but I just thought Id throw it out there. |

Ask him what it shows for the 2009, it HAS mount points. I immagine rr will know as well. And, I LOVE my rails! |
