Post subject:  Alternator question

as I mentioned in another thread, my alternator went out and the dealer replaced it under my lifetime bumper to bumper warranty.

However, he said he did not have an alternator in stock and said he called around and could not find one, so he kept my car overnight. When I got it back, it had a new alternator on it, but it had a sticker on it that said "Nipendenso" huh? do the Japanese make the KK alternators? What's up with that?

well, that's interesting.. I didn't realize that Chrysler/Jeep contracted out the building of alternators to Nipondenso. I wonder if its the same alternator as the one on the Toyotas? Not sure why it took the dealer so long to get one for my Jeep.
