Post subject:  General Cost of a KK...New and Used

Hey y'all this seems pretty silly, but I really want a KK and find myself looking all over online pretty much every chance I get every day. I am trying to save up money to put down a good down payment. I was curious as to what most people think a used KK would be. I really want it to have less than about 45k miles. What do you guys think? I think my limit is about 20k. What about new ones? I've heard stories of people getting brand new KK's for around 20k.

What's the word?

I really haven't seen a used KK in my area under $18,000 at any of the "reputable" dealers.

Bought my 2010 limited, 4WD Command Track in Sept. of last year (new).Got the dealer down to $24,500 from $27 500, so in this area Durham ,NC you could easily find a used one for under $20k. Looked at a '08 with 20k miles at the same time,it was listed for$18k.Good luck!

Wow, I'm not sure where you guys are looking for used vehicles... I got mine for under $13k (2008 with 52k miles on it at the time) a year ago.

Keep holding out, you'll find one at a good price somewhere. I bought my 2010 in Aug 2010 with 1,500 miles for 18k. It still had the new car smell.

I guess it depends on different factors. Your Liberty was WAY over mileage for it's age. I suspect that's why you got such a good deal on it. I know that when my '08 Liberty lease was almost up my dealer told me that they were going to just clean it up and put it right out on the lot priced at $18K since I was right at the target mileage and I had taken excellent care of it. (I ended up buying out the lease. Couldn't give my Libby up.) At the time the dealer told me that most used '08 Sport Libbys are going for around $18K if they have roughly 36K miles on them. Loaded up Limited versions are going for closer to $20K, more if it has a sky slider.

If bocokeeper just wants a Sport version, keeping under $20K shouldn't be a problem.

Just bought by 2011 Sport 4x4 with a skyslider about a month ago for about 24k(including taxes, dmv fees, etc). Its a base model though, the only thing special about it is that it has a skyslider and its a 4x4....but then again I count that as standard with almost any jeep :-)r

Keep in mind this is from Long Island, New York, everything seems like it's more expensive here. And I also put about 11k down(I got rearended and they totaled the car).

Oh I also picked 1 of the colors that cost extra and I got the extended warranty, not sure if that had anything to do with price or anything(probably did). I'm only 18 and we put the truck in my dad's name so the financial stuff was up to them lol.

Definitely agree that there are multiple things that could take into the pricing of it... I drove out over an hour to a large dealership in a lower income area so they had a lot of good prices on their lot compared to closer by. They also originally had it listed for 16.9k but I think a lot of people were looking for better gas mileage cars at the time so I talked them down quite a bit.

Paid $22k in July for my '08 Limited 4x4 w/ Skyslider and 14,924 miles on it. Got the dealer to include 75k mile warranty with that as well for everything except interior parts (although now I'm wishing I would have tried for the lifetime bumper-to-bumper). They just replaced the entire slider assembly for me as well after dealing with it coming off the tracks (just after they did the TSB on it).

Probably could have talked down more (we started @ $24k), but being my first financed car purchase I wasn't quite prepared for what I was in for. ;)

Wow thanks for all the feedback. This is why I wanna get LOST!!!!

I'm definitely looking for a sport..I don't need anything fancy and plus I have all these plans of grandeur to lift it and what not so all the chrome and stuff would really be wasted.

I saw this dealership in my town with a 2011 Renegade for 22k...brand new!! I imagine it was that price just because they are getting the 2012's in now, but darn I wish I had enough saved up for it. I don't make enough at work to constitute a 300/month car payment, so I have to put down a hefty payment. :banghead:

Honestly try talking to the dealer. That's a great deal. Around me they're going in the 30s i believe. I know before rebates they wanted around 26 or 27k for my 2011 sport. Not sure how much you have to put down or how your credit is, but with the right credit and circumstances its possible to get it for a cheaper price. I can only imagine how much they wanted for the renegades around me lol. It could never hurt to find out, it'll take you what a few hours tops? Just don't do anything you aren't comfortable with or stretch yourself too thin finance-wise.

One thing, I would be careful of is a deal that is too good. Ex. A used Lib may selling at a good price point for you, but you don't know what happened to it. It could have flood damage may of been in an collision, yet look all new and polished If you by used Veh make sure the seller gives you an opportunity to let an expert that you know check it out.

I purchased my 10' Spor, new on 7/10/10. The dealership gave me $2500 cash back, 3.39% finacing and $$ on my trade in. Usually, this time of the year on to December dealerships will give rebates in order to bring in the 12's.

Good Luck

Post subject:  Re: General Cost of a KK...New and Used

Got a 2009 brandnew in Feb 09. After my nice salesman (he's sold me 2 other new cars over the past few years), hooked me up with every discount I could get, military, employee family member (hey, I treat him like a brother), loyalty, returning customer, etc.. After I put 3k down, walked out with one for just over 16k. I had remote start, cruise and tented windows added also. He even tossed in a tow hook for the front. I KNOW I got a great deal but I hit them just at the right time and had the extra loyalty off cupon too. And, I was returning a lease minivan. It's now got 57k and I just dropped it off tonight at the dealer for them to install my mopar heated seat kit the wife got me last year for xmas (just in time, it was 35 when I dropped it off) and a locking module for the rear driver side door isn't working. The one thing that really sold me was the lifetime warranty on the trans and eng. Not sure what crap I'll have to deal with if I have a prob but at least I feel I'm covered. :grim:

I guess its hard to find a good deal on one of these. I paid 8k for my daughters 02 BRIGHT RED Limited with 86k miles on it. I was the 2nd owner. But it needed new tires, brakes and a tranmission sensor plug that was leaking. It's even got the running boards 8) . Good luck if you find one. Other then the rear door and rear hatch leak (fixed), it's been a great runner and good on gas. Still has orig brakes. If only my new 2011 T&C touring L could have the same luck on brakes, I'll be a happy :CAMPING:

Update: heated seats work GREAT and I can now unlock the rear passenger door with fob or from inside the cabin. Debaiting now on a lift or rock rails.

I bought my 2010 limited 4x4, with skyslider and nav systeme, brandnew for 39K$ CAD... At the time we were near at parity with the U.S. dollar.

We are literally raped on the price of vehicles in Canada.
