If I cut the resonator off of my 2009 liberty will it affect the emissions?

Not to my knowledge. It's purpose is to prevent resonance aka drone when you're driving around. I would leave it on unless you don't drive on the highway/take trips with it much... Although I have a flowmaster 44 and it also has a lot of drone when driving it on the highway

I take trips from GA to NC why would you leave it on? Also any affect in mud or water? Thanks for your response!

With the stock muffler taking the resonator off wouldn't add too much to drone. If you have a different muffler though it would make a difference. The resonator is designed to eliminate certain frequencies of the exhaust sound, helping to eliminate drone. I have a Flowmaster Delta 50 with no resonator and I don't really have any problems with drone. It's also a less aggressive muffler than the Super 40 or 44. If you think that on your trips the drone would bother you, than I would suggest leaving it on.

I can't think of any negative effect in mud or water either.
