Hey all! Have a quick few questions (sorry if I missed a previous post with this info already but I did look for it). Does anyone have the OME 1.5 lift kit installed? If so do you realistically get 1.5 inches of lift or is it less or more? Do you have any pics to show the diff? Also how is the ride vs stock? I was looking at the 2.5 JBA vs 1.5 OME and the 2.5 is over $2000 ( I am including the " Als A-arms" as well as a set of rear shocks) VS $700 to $800 for the OME (which also includes the " Als A-arms" and rear shocks)...why is it so much more for just a small difference? Is it quality? Sorry if this question is stupid but I am a noob when it comes to lifts etc. Would the 1.5 be enough of lift? I am hoping to put on 255 70 16 AT's (not looking to do any crazy trails just logging roads etc) Would much appreciate any feedback or suggestions, I am looking to make my decision within the next 2 weeks and these two are my choices. I just can't seem to justify paying that much more for an extra inch |

You're looking at two different lifts hence the price difference Full spring lift -vs- adjustable spring lift You'll get more than the advertised amount of 1.5 inches of lift with the OMEs |

Here's the thread about the OME lift. I will be working on getting these now that some of the guys have it on. Back when i was looking to do something we all just figured out that these springs would "work" but it hadn't been confirmed yet. viewtopic.php?f=88&t=61478&p=683340&hilit=2927#p683340 Search "2927" and you will find some more posts |

If you go with ome springs, your going to want to upgrade your front shocks as well. It doesn't look like you have them included in your estimate with the jba arms. Yes the 927 hd coils give you more lift than 1.5". Measuring from the center of the wheel to the bottom edge of the fender flare, my front end is at 21 1/8" driver side and 21 7/8" passenger side. Subtract that from what you are currently at and thats how much lift you'll get. The 731 rear springs i'm sure give you more than 1.5" but i'm on spacers so couldn't give you exact measurements. |

Before: ![]() After: ![]() The ride is better than stock (less bouncy over bumps). The only issue I ever have is when cornering above a certain speed my TCS kicks in (which can be fixed by just switching it to Partial Off, or just slowing down around corners). |

Thanks everyone! It's exactly the type of info I was looking for! Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can find a local shop to get this done for me Quote: If you go with ome springs, your going to want to upgrade your front shocks as well. Atthehelm, the kit says it comes with front OME 2926 springs and NS131 struts already....Sorry if this is a stupid question but if I have the struts already why do I need the shocks? (I thought they essentially did the same thing so you have one or the other...) Am I totally off here?

I prefer to call them shocks because struts are usually found on cars and pivot with the wheels via a bearing top plate. You can pick which springs you get and most go with the 2927s front and 731s rear if your not a deisel or have a steel bumper or winch. They are stiffer, will give more lift, and won't sag. |

Ah okay will do. I will get the 2927's front and the 731's rear. Just one more question ...it says for the rear shocks N132 OR N132"L" shocks. I read in one of the posts that the N132 shocks aren't long enough so people decided to go with other shocks (bds, skyjacker etc)? ....so does the "L" designation for the second option mean they are longer and thus they would work? I am asking because I would rather just buy the whole kit instead of picking pieces from here and there. Thanks again for all your help. |

132L's are for use with a lift i believe. 132s are for stock height. |

I didn't get the L shocks because they didn't have them in stock at the time. The 132s are built for the OME springs so there is not an issue with them. If you were to go higher it would be beneficial to have them but I was told by Marlin at JBA that the L's max out at 2.5". |

the long shocks should be in stock now unless a ton of people were waiting on them. (i was) I was told ARB had 60 of them coming in from Australia a few weeks back. |

Okay cool, Thanks for the info. Have another question, what is the best place to order the whole kit from? I have been doing all my estimates off the Jeepinbyal web site. Or does it matter? |

Ive heard that you can save a little cash by buying each piece individually. but good luck trying to locate a site that sells it all or even some of the pieces probably will have to go through several sites and pay shipping on each vs just going with JBA as a one stop shop. Up to you though. |

245-75-16 is a good size with the lift kit, fits well and no need to re-gear as you do with larger sizes |

I have the 1.5ome and havnt noticed a real increase in lift. I had the daystar 2in before which may be the reason..but yea. I only go the springs and replacement rear shocks. Used stock front struts and kept the top late from the daystar to stems stocks until I get a full lift. |

i did a cost savings hunt on the whole kit for a few weeks. i found i could piece the parts together from different sources for a hundred bucks or so cheaper, but the shipping cost soars through the roof by buying from multiple sources. i found JBA was the least expensive, based on part cost + shipping, and most trustworthy, based on LOST reviews, out of all the combinations i tried. gren71 wrote: I have the 1.5ome and havnt noticed a real increase in lift. Hey peeps! Thanks for all the info....I have officially got the kit ordered through a store here in the lower mainland. The only thing is I won't be getting the A-Arms. Reason being the shop i'm going with deals directly with OME so they get a discount on parts from them directly. If needed I will order Al's A-Arms directly at a later date. I am very excited as it has been a LOOONG wait (I have had the jeep since 2009) and its finally gonna happen! Now for the hardest part....3 week wait on parts Thanks again everyone for the info and details! I will post pics once it is done in a few weeks |

Recently i have noticed the dreaded sag though, so id suggest that you put the spacers in when doing the initial install..it will be a LITTLE higher at first but will level out. |
