| Post subject: | Radio Audio Stopped Functioning |
Hello, I am hoping someone can help me. I took my Jeep in yesterday for various items (repair transmission leak, replace fan belt, replace weatherstripping, replace center console). When I was driving it this morning, the MyGig just stopped playing audio. The MyGig still has power and shows that it is playing a song, but there is no audio whatsoever. I tried restarting the MyGig and the Jeep, but still no audio. After driving the Jeep again at lunch the radio played for about a minute and then I lost audio again, so I don't think it could be a fuse. The automatic temperature control also doesn't seem to be working correctly. I think the dealership pinched or cut a wire or something, but they say that it could be something completely unrelated . They say that the tech that worked on my Jeep is gone until Monday so there is nothing they can do for me. Now I have to drive 3 hours tomorrow with nothing but my thoughts and I am a little concerned that there could be other electrical problems when I get far away from home.Has anyone else run into something like this? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rich |

Ive had that happen to me a few times. It always came back on, whether it was 10 minutes or 5 hours later. The last time this happened to me was a about 9 months ago. That was the only electrical problem Ive had with my Jeep. |

The dealership finally agreed to take a look at it this morning, but could not figure out what is causing the problem. They led me to believe that I will probably need to replace the radio so I paid $1,385 to extend my warranty to 7yrs/70k miles. Now I have to drive around with headphones on for two weeks if I want to listen to music, because I have to wait until I am able to submit a claim under the new warranty before they can order the new radio. I guess when I get the new MyGig, the extended warranty will have payed for itself. I still think the tech accidentally messed something up when he was working on it on Thursday. |
