Hi fellow KK owners, Has anybody had the black power window switch module in the drivers door come loose? I can pull mine right out of the door handle if I try to roll up the windows, and it pops up whenever I close the door. How is this unit supposed to be attached to the armrest? Has it come unglued? Unscrewed? Broken plastic tabs? I haven't had the time to take it apart yet and see what's up, but I am hoping for a quick fix before the Thanksgiving road trip. Thanks, LFH |

Not a clue. I would try looking for a thread about removing the door panel and see if there is a step related to that part as part of the whole door panel removal process. GL |

It would be great if someone had a writeup on taking the doors apart... I looked for one in the KK Tech section, but didn't find one. There are some great writeups in there about disassembling the dash, center console, and taking the doors off (but not apart). I think Digger has probably taken his whole KK apart and put it back together at one time or another... The photo documentation in his posts is fantastic. (For example, see: viewtopic.php?f=104&t=36253) That's the kind of thing that would be super helpful here, so I could see how the window switches connect on the inside. |

OK, after a little more research, here's what I was able to come up with. Neither post shows the inside of the door panel, but they explain how to get it off: Here's one by our fearless Diggerfreek: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=44904 The FSM diagrams appear to depict the '02-'07 Liberty, though. Here's one from JeepForum: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f292/how ... y-1210699/ There are pictures of the KK door in this post. I may try to take the door panel off over Thanksgiving to see if I can secure the window switch from inside. If I do, I'll take some pictures of the inside of the door panel and post them here. Meanwhile, if anyone knows the answer to my original question-- how is that window switch module held in place-- please let me know. Thanks! --LFH |

Mine has actually come loose... The plastic tab holding it on snapped off but it still works fine (just has some wiggle to it). If you can come up with a quick fix let me know. |

I bought my KK used, and over the phone. I noticed the the switches were loose the first time I drove it. I took it in to local dealer, thinking it was just missing clips. The switch plate was broken and the part had to be ordered. I hot glued it until the part came in. The replacement has not broken . |

I haven't taken my door apart yet, but I took a close look at the switch module, and there are plastic clips on the bottom of it that appear to have broken off. When I get the time to take apart the door (maybe over the winter holiday), I'll see if I can think of a way to secure the module. The switches all work fine, so it seems like a shame to replace it. Hot glue sounds like a possibility. I'll let you know what I come up with. |

Today I took the front door apart to fix a couple of issues. The first was the loose window switch module. There are four metal clips that attach to the sides of the plastic switch module. Two of them had broken off, so that the module could rattle around in the armrest. When I took the trim panel off the inside of the door, the two loose metal pieces fell out. I glued them back onto the switch module using epoxy, and after it dried, I was able to snap the module back into place. It seems secure now. The second issue was a broken side view mirror. The mirror was not snapped off, but the plastic housing around it was shattered. Since everything else still worked, I figured I'd just glue the plastic housing back together instead of paying for a replacement mirror. I unscrewed it from the door so that I could bring it inside the house and epoxy the plastic back together. It came out pretty well. I'm interested to see how it holds up in the weather. |
