I recently purchased a 2008 Liberty Limitedat the begining of August. 3 or 4 times now I have heard the "Ding" sound from the dash area. Like a warning light comes on, or the low fuel light but there are no warning lights on, all the tire pressures are good too. I went throught the display to see if it is due for service but there are no notifications there either. Anyone have this issue?

Does the odometer say "gASCAP" when it happens? That happened to me a couple times until I got a new one... It actually 'dings' at my every once and a while (probably twice every tank fill-up) when I'm driving just because my wheels don't have the TPMS sensor's in them so I've just gotten to the point of ignoring it (probably a bad habit)

I have seen a thread like this before somewhere and nobody really had a clear answer. But I do hear this once in awhile too and the only thing I can figure out is that everytime it happens its after I have driven a few miles with the cruise control on but not active if that makes sense. For ex. when getting off the freeway I pull towards me on the CC lever stopping the CC but not turning it off. Then I get a ding just before getting home a few miles down the road.

So I took my jeep in to fix the gas tank overflowing...they replaced the whole gas tank and mine stopped "dinging" after that

Never had the problem with my Liberty, but with my old Avenger it would happen every so often and flash CHANgE OIL then go away. It's only supposed to do that right after you start up the car, but it happened from time to time when I had been driving for a few miles.

I finally got around to getting this fixed since I could only put about 3 tablespoons of gas in between pump shutoffs... Just got the call from jeep and it needs a new tank. Might be here tomorrow. $50 including the rental for today and tomorrow.

Thank god for the lifetime maxcare warranty.

Well, $50 and a new gas tank later and the problem is not fixed. Of course, it took me driving to the dealer, picking it up, driving to the gas station and trying to fill it myself for that to come to light. They said they tested filling it and it went "real smooth" for $5 worth - somehow, the next $5 worth shut off the pump 3 times.

If anyone ever breaks down in Silverthorne colorado - just get towed to Denver. Vista Chrysler are a bunch of morons.

Got the completely unexpected call from the dealer saying that they couldn't reproduce the problem (sarcasm). So, down to the dealer for the 3rd trip and we've confirmed that it is not fixed. They'll figuring out what to do next. What a bunch of a-holes.

Isnt there a TSB for this? I remember SEVERAL KK owners going crazy about it a while back. and saying what they had to do to fix the problem. I think it was the neck that was the issue.

Don't know about a TSB, but a lot of people have had this issue - I thought they were swapping the tank because the neck wasn't independently serviceable, but apparently, I have no idea what I'm on about.

The fuel filler neck seems to have done the trick.... I'm actually not 100% sure yet, as I haven't filled up since picking it up... But I understand there is no hesitation or pressure build up whatsoever, regardless of how you set the nozzle in the neck.

Which brings me to my next point - Vista Jeep of Silverthorne actually did something right this time! After all the BS and multiple trips to the dealer, the service manager filled it full of gas on the house and took it through the car wash. When I went to get it, it was sitting there all shiny looking and the needle pinned on full when I started it up. Awesome... Nice to see them finally do something that could be considered good customer service. And it's been 2.5 days since I left and I have not had to schedule another appointment yet. That's what I call progress - unfortunately.
