Well, tried to make a set of Smittybuilt TJ seat covers fit yesterday, holy :furious: crap. I had a 2009 KK and I remember having nowhere near as much grief with those plastic panels on the side of the seat as I did with my new 2012. Yeah, aside from taking the whole seat out of the Jeep, disassembling it, putting the Smittybuilt covers on, yeah they weren't goin in. So I found a pair of the $20 seat covers I had modified to fit the 2009, plastic seat panel, no prob. Now, I don't think the 2012 "Active Head Restraint" headrests come out. WTF? They really don't want you putting seat covers in this friggin thing, guys in the factory laughin' it up I bet. :banghead:

Is there not a release button on the adjacent side as the height adjustment button?

I was unable to understand how to remove headrests on my 2010 Liberty. It may be that it is not possible. My 2004 had the release on the side but these do not.

I was looking for that "hard to push in" slot thing on the adjacent post base, ah no. All there is on my 2012 is a pin hole, I was thinking a paperclip maybe...anyon else removed the headrests in 2011/12 KK, without a hammer? :banghead:

Your KK has active head rest not an option on the older KK's. This is what I used to installed my smittybuilt JK grab handles

Sorry if the pictures are hard to see. I was able to figure it out wasn't to hard. My 2010 did not have the screws for the passenger side you just have to lift up on the plastic piece, I almost broke the top tabs from trying to figure out how to remove the darn thing.

Here are my JK grab handles.

While your 2008 may be simple, I do not see a problem with safety features. Whatever helps keep me alive and with as little (or none!) injury as possible is a good thing in my mind. :)
