So as its gettin warmer and I'm doing more highway driving (To the beach and school). I'm not sure what psi I should fill my tires up to. I have duratrac 245 75 16's and they say 50psi Cold I think. Is that what I should fill em up to? 50 seems rly high lol

Recommended psi I think is 33? Check your front driver side door. I have mine around 38 for better mileage.

No, that is the max pressure the tire can handle, but under normal vehicle weights that will be a little much. I usually run between 32 and 35 psi on my tires. Now if your going to be towing i would give it some more psi in the back to make the tire more firm. Also, if I must put more psi due to added weight I usually still try to keep it more then 2.5psi below max pressure. The actual tire pressure really depends on your driving style. You want to have a good balence between comfort and LRR(Low Rolling Resistance) to save gas. Also if your psi is too high your tires will wear in the center unevenly. if its too low they will wear on Both sides leaving a high spot in the middle. In California every tire shop must by law fill tires to Door Specs, that's a good spot to look for your recommended tire pressure on any car, regardless of tire(unless tire cannot handle that pressure, then you need to get different tires).

Hope that helps.

P.S. Lower presser makes a less "Bumpy" ride but more "Bouncy" Higher pressure is more "Bumpy" less "Bouncy" .And with any off road tires most people will drop pressure to between 8-15 psi when off Roading, however I do not recommend this with any rims other then cheapo steelies that you can pound out dents and dings with a mallet when you pop your tire of your rim and ding it real good.

:D

But the tire pressure in the door is for stock tires. Mine are at 43 psi and they look a bit low. Also good to know about those stealies

Yeah, but you still want the same tire pressure. It might take more air to get it there with a larger tire but the psi requirements are the same (it's a measure of the pressure, not of the amount of air in the tire). If they look low at 43 psi you might want to try another gauge.

Actually non-stock tire requires different pressures then OE sized tires. That 33psi is for "P" rated tires only when you get to load range C/D/E tires the required psi is higher for wear and ride.

Been generally seeing for 245/75R16's that about 38psi-45psi works best.Oh and radial tires "look" different even when aired correctly so just saying they look low does not mean they are.
