Get it repaired or replace windshield? It looks like there was no impact of any stone or debris.
Probably should've cleaned around the area better. I just had it washed in the morning.
Anyone seen any cracks in their kk windshields? it's an '08

My last car also had a similar crack but it got larger over the year, I also never had it repaired. If this crack is repairable, can the repair stop it from getting larger?

By the way I am OP. Firefox logged me into my old account above

the crack may be able to get fixed but with the amount of road grime in it im not sure the fix will be a "good fix". if its not fixed it will get worse. i would contact your insurance and see if they can do anything for you. they should at least give you a name of a good company. i know if mine has a crack ovre 4" they will replace it free of charge.

The windshield needs to be repaired or replaced when ever there is a crack or even a deep stone chip. Windshield is not just for looking out its part of roof roll over strength.
It's usually covered under comp. most insurance company repair or replace at the customers choice.

I just got nailed by a stone falling from an overpass. Doing 65. The crater was about the size of a pencil eraser, and it had spider web cracks leading away from it about the circumference of a nickel.

Safelite said the crater didn't reach the second layer of glass. Allstate said they'd repair first, then replace if I wasn't satisfied. The epoxy resin stuff works well to repair the integrity of the glass, but with a hole that deep, they couldn't make it vanish completely.

So I can still see it (although it's much smaller). I'd rather have the oem mopar windshield, so im keeping it.

Guess insurance companies are getting cheaper.
There are still good replacement windshields. I'm can't remember this morning the brand names. Which is funny because the plant is 2 towns over.

I had a problem even finding an insurance company to cover glass that didn't exceed my premium by more than the cost of a couple new windshields. I have Erie and they don't even offer glass coverage in any form. :banghead: The roads in northeast Ohio aren't in the best of shape either, lots of little stones flying around.

When President David Palmer tells you you're in good hands, he means it.

Dennis Haysbert played the Pres in the first few seasons of 24.

He then went on to do some Allstate commercials.

"Are you in good hands?"

I have Auto Owners and carry full coverage with additional coverage. I have a chauffeur's license and drive people in my vehicle or theirs.
I have zero deductible on comp(glass) .

I don't understand why erie stopped covering glass in Ohio. When I called to file a claim Sunday, one of the options was for a glass claim. When I asked about it, they said they may not cover it here to ask my agent, they'd know. Looks like its time to shop. With the angle of the KK's windshield, I look for it to happen again. Some states require them to offer glass coverage.
